Trump explicitly condemned federal-funding of PP’s abortions and that aspect of their business.

Now, here’s where we have to think. You can either a) condemn PP, or b) hammer that major part of their business and pay passing acknowledgment that they “do some great things.”

If you choose a), then you’ll be going into in-depth explanations as to the funding streams and percentages of business and on and on and on while the media screams “war on women!” endlessly. Guess who wins that one?

If you choose b), then you’ll be able to be on record as condemning their ghoulish business and sabotage any “war on women!” crap before it can start by tossing out a token “great things” comment regarding the three annual breast exams they perform across the country.

LIVs make up a significant portion of the voters in this country on the left and on the right. If your positions have to require long, drawn-out explanations every time, then you’ve lost a significant chunk of the voting public.

It’s stuff like this that makes me admire Trump as a strategic thinker and shake my head at Cruz’ tactical mentality.

In fact, if abortion were to be made illegal, not only the woman who breaks the law by having it done, the abortionist is also punished....

And the baby's father if he coerced her? Perhaps her parents as well when they threatened homelessness forcing their teenager to abort? There are many guilty parties in this horrible "choice"

Sad to see the level of delusion and denial here. You may believe it with all of your heart but you cannot keep saying these things outright with the nation as it is now and expect to win. You honestly think all the moderates and liberals who voted Obama in are going to hear Trump and suddenly have an epiphany and say ‘Durr gosh I guess Trump is right? Better vote for him now!’. This is practically extending the keys to the WH to Hillary. Something I’m more and more beginning to think Trump is trying to do regardless of all the silly red meat he throws to easily impressed conservatives.

And why would any conservative have a problem with this?

Only Cruz conservatives would have a problem with it since they are the anti-trump and anything to help Ted is a-ok with them. No belief is malleable enough when it comes to defeating Trump. Case in point, see the BLM protest and their response.

A fast ball down the middle for Hillary Clinton to hit out of the park with the militant left vote and take votes away from Bernie next Tuesday in Wisconsin.

I have speculated about Trump as Hillary’s ‘little helper’ in this race.

His comments help her with the ‘woman as victim’ scenario she likes to throw around.

Because Cruz worship trumps reason and logic

It’s how the very best of Christians and Real Conservatives think

Abortion is against the law

Women has one illegally

Punish the doctor

Sell the body parts

But for Gods sake don’t punish the woman who got the doctor to kill her baby

It’s the Cruz way now

Like I said all the best Christians think like this now just like the holy anointed Ted Cruz

Just look at him

He’s like a long nosed beady eyed angel who knows what’s in our hearts

We punish drug addicts why not women who kill their babies even though we provide billions in services to help those who can’t afford their children? I personally think its better to focus on the abortion providers which is how Trump revised his statement. I am interested in how quickly those who claimed he wasn’t prolife were there to condemn him for wanting some punishment of women who is committing what is undeniably murder of her unborn or rather hiring someone to murder her unborn. Trump isn’t wrong for expecting punishment for such a person. Also the women is not the only party involved but the father. Men who want these babies should have recourse just as they would if their girlfriend murdered their infant. The problem is many pro lifers don’t want to talk about life as if it REALLY means anything. They continue to allow the left to own this issue as if the woman is bearing the cost not the dead babies who have their lives stolen from them.

And you’re avoiding the question - what punishment should a woman receive for knowingly aborting her baby? (By the way many sins are not against the law, what we’re talking about is the law, and consequences for breaking a law)

Speaking of 'talking about the law' - the current 'law' says abortion is just fine and dandy...

Trump says women who break the law should be punished.
You’re rolling your eyes in disbelief, so perhaps you might condescend to educate the hoi-polloi as to just what is the conservative, Cruz-approved alternative to saying “women who break the law should be punished”?

Trump has said he came from a social circle in which abortion just never came up.

I believe that. I am sure he couldn’t tell the story of how it became “legal,” and what, constitutionally, we can do about it.

But then, neither can the people who run the “March for Life.” The official purpose of the MfL is still lobbying for the utterly futile “Paramount Human Life Amendment.”

I have been convinced for thirty years that the constitutionally sound way to “reverse” Roe, Doe, etc., is nullification by the people to whom the decisions are actually addressed—which is not the President and not the Congress, but the GOVERNORS. Who can DISOBEY Roe and Doe? Not women. Not Congress. Not the President. (It was getting arrested that set my mind going—I knew the police were committing mortal sin. And who was ultimately responsible for the orders to arrest rescuers? The governor! It is the governor of each state who can directly disobey Roe, Doe, etc.

I discussed this proposition with Judge Bork, and he agreed heartily. In fact, he seemed to think it was painfully obvious.

The pro-life movement should, on January 22, 1973, have turned its focus on the governors. The bishops should have demanded nullification by the governors. The bishops’ conference first statement on Roe and Doe called them “null,” and correctly said that all public officials, at all levels, had the duty to behave as if the decisions did not exist. It was a forthright statement of Catholic moral teaching. But it was just words.

Instead, they wasted 25 years and tens of millions of dollars on the HLA. Meanwhile, snuggling and nuzzling with pro-abortion Democrats. To this day.

You Cruzers were attacking him as not being pro-life enough, and now he’s TOO pro-life.

No, we're not criticizing The Rump for being too pro-life. We're criticizing him for being clueless on the issue, having a tin ear when it comes to understanding the issue, coming across as a ham-handed buffoon when trying to talk about the nuances of the issue, and generally looking like an all-around dope by disowning his statement two hours later.

In other words, he's behaving exactly like a con-man BS-artist would when asked to speak on a topic utterly outside his depth.

So the best defense of this moron who is the supposed GOP front-runner and his ridiculous malapropisms is to bash Ted Cruz? You cultists really are pathetic.

Cruz disgusts me because all he does is counter everything Trump says and appears quite delighted with the establishment endorsements he’s accumulating. The real cult is the anti-Trump people who are obsessed with destroying this man. He gets attacked from all sides from the media to the liberals to his own party. It takes a strong person to stand through that storm.
