We punish drug addicts why not women who kill their babies even though we provide billions in services to help those who can’t afford their children? I personally think its better to focus on the abortion providers which is how Trump revised his statement. I am interested in how quickly those who claimed he wasn’t prolife were there to condemn him for wanting some punishment of women who is committing what is undeniably murder of her unborn or rather hiring someone to murder her unborn. Trump isn’t wrong for expecting punishment for such a person. Also the women is not the only party involved but the father. Men who want these babies should have recourse just as they would if their girlfriend murdered their infant. The problem is many pro lifers don’t want to talk about life as if it REALLY means anything. They continue to allow the left to own this issue as if the woman is bearing the cost not the dead babies who have their lives stolen from them.
I agree. Isn't a woman less likely to reject abortion if she's told that she's a victim and she didn't commit a crime?
Meanwhile, they'll cyber-shout me down if I say a woman who with 48 hours (or so) reports a rape or incest situation should have the option of having a potential pregnancy terminated. Think about what I'm suggesting...this is a woman who really is a victim, it makes "rape and incest" exclusions unnecessary, and it infinitely increases the chances that the attacker is convicted.
Trump's statement exposed a very inconvenient truth. That is that the pro-life argument is being framed by the other side to some degree.
I don't fault Trump. He strives to be a spokesperson for pro-life advocates. He inadvertently gave a wake-up call that they've taken some uncomfortable steps, giving up some principle for a perceived victory.
Flame away, folks!
