Donald Trump insisted Friday he had nothing to do with the recent National Enquirer story in which Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is accused of cheating on his wife multiple times.
Still, Trump took the moment to point out the tabloid publication has been right in the past with similar stories.
“I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it,” Trump said in a statement. “Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.”

I do not know how much of the NE story is true or how much harm, if any, it will do to Cruz's political career. But it does not look good for him. His statements after the Chicago violence, his obsessive "blame Trump", and his close ties to Beck concern me more than the NE story.

When you run as a “pure” Christian and constitutional conservative, and then these allegations come up??? Cruz is NOT a “pure” anything. The ONLY Pure Person is JESUS CHRIST! To worship Cruz in such a way is disgusting. If Cruz doesn’t come out and say, “I have not had any extra-marital affairs”, he’s lying. It’s Lying Cruz’s fault for putting himself and his family in this tragic situation. He was so arrogant that he probably thought this would stay hidden. If you are close you will under the significance of this video. IMO the sex scandals were released just as The beans were about to be released on Heidi C. They were not sexual. Just as the NE was released a Trump spokesman appeared on MSNBC. She was cut short because of the European chaos
I immediately started searching to see what she was talking about. Many articles popped up on top of search. Most gave bits and pieces.

Lots of things we as the public doesn’t know about this. However it is telling to me
that Cruz hasn’t had his personal lawyers up front and starting the process of legal
proceedings if this is all false. If it’s false then Cruz has a good chance of winning.
