Ted Cruz has few friends on Capitol Hill, and the establishment is starting to line up behind him to take out Donald Trump.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and South Carolina Senator Lindsay Graham have endorsed Cruz, and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Florida Senator Marco Rubio have hinted that they also might come along.
Cruz's base of support comes from conservative women, educated evangelicals, older voters and nationally syndicated conservative radio talk show hosts. Mark Levin and Glenn Beck have endorsed him, and he gets strong support from Rush Limbaugh.
Though Cruz has a friend in right-wing media, Donald Trump is still winning. Is conservative talk radio, once a powerful force in Republican politics, losing its influence? For answers, we turn to Darryl Parks, a media consultant and former talk radio host.
Not a problem.
Haven’t missed cable myself.
The only one that is not a mouth piece for the R wing of the uniparty is Laura Ingram and Micheal Savage but Savage is crazy so I don’t listen to him.
I don’t think Rush is establishment as much as he is an entertainer. He uses satire to appeal to his audience. It has become tiring to listen to his middle of the road put down of “low information” voters.
“It never had any.
Or else Clinton would have been a one-term president.”
I wouldn’t go that far ... 1994 more than likely wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for talk radio. There certainly would have been gains in the House due to Clinton’s early lackluster performance and Hillary’s healthcare antics, but I don’t think it would have been a wave election.
I kind of suspect the internet replaced a lot of talk radio right around the 2000 election ... you can make the argument that it might have started to have a diminishing effect right around then.
Red Eye Radio (Eric and Gary) have been anti-Trump for eight months straight without a break.
I saw Herman at a local GOP event last June or July. He told us then to watch Trump, that he had an interesting message and was likely going to surprise a lot of people.
and Rush plays golf with Trump.
Nobody is who they say they are any more. The Dems and Repubs are all one party not: Uniparty. They are all in cahoots to screw the American taxpayer for their own benefit. I for one am sick and tired of it. We voted in a republican Senate and House to overturn Obama’s bad policies and things just go on the same. NO MORE. People will not admit it but in their hearts they know that the ONLY shot we have up overturning the apple cart is to elect Donald Trump to the Presidency. The way I feel, it is worth the chance because it certainly won’t get better with anyone else in the running.
I start and end the day with drudge and FR. I listen to the radio all day at work. I switched to talk and news on 911. Cruz has been my preferred candidate but since Beck has become nearly all anti-Trump radio, I only tune in briefly. I do like his history segments and such but he now his hatred of Trump is letting his crazy come out. I still flip to Rush everyday when he comes on and will usually hear his entire show. I cannot stand Hannity’s repetitive yammering, so it’s music or sports until Levin comes on. Then it’s a bit of Savage on the way home. Funny how the workday starts anti-trump with Beck and finishes pro-trump with Savage. TV, not radio, is irrelevant to me.
KUSC is a good alternative. Beethoven doesn’t care if Rubio has elevator boots.

What should we expect from talkshow hosts ? First of all when we attach ourselves to a political candidate like a personal investment it is a mistake particularly when it comes to running this country. Do not expect perfection its profound keep an open mind.
Radio Talkshow Is an entertainent numbers business. While many hosts reach millions of people they still don’t have the impact that the tv media has; When they establish temselves as advocates for a given cause from the outset their audiences get restricted to those who share whatever they are pitching.
But some expect them to be completely unbiased information machines because the media is so bad, so lefty, and unreliable. But what they do, like em or not, most often is offer counter talking points to what the media is telling US. Sometimes they express an opinion which you don’t share because you’re so wrapped up in that candidate. Maybe they’re right and you don’t want to admit it.
Ha. In a year where the party preferred candidates are ALL out of the race and its down to two anti establishment candidates left, it’s a huge feather in their cap. Lest we forget, both rush and Levin had trump’s back all summer and fall. Rush in particular relished each time the menu on the right thought they had knocked him out only to see his numbers rise. It wasn’t until he went scorched earth on Cruz and conservatism in January that they both changed course. This was over by then.
Hannity supported Mitt and ARNOLD in California against a true conservative.. and now is leaning towards Trump. Go figure.
I stand with Mark Levin and Rush.. sorry.

“Hannity supported Mitt and ARNOLD in California against a true conservative.. “
So did Hugh Hewitt of Salem radio’s GOPe propaganda team.
A couple of months back (before David Limbaugh published his two passionate, Christian sided, anti-Trump pleas in Town Hall), Rush Limbaugh stated on his show, that the very survival of our country depends on closing our borders, stopping the PC left and defeating the Islamic threat to our country. Without doing this, nothing else matters.
The only candidate that shows a clear path to deal with this problem effectively and swiftly is Trump. That broadcast was the deciding factor for my supporting Trump.
It is disappointing now to listen to Rush favor Cruz, but I forgive him because he loves his brother David and may be siding with Cruz to prevent family problems.
Rush must know that Cruz could not win against the Dems nationally and Trump would have a much better chance going against Clinton.
If the Islamic threat and the open borders are not stopped, we will cease to exist. This is why Trump is winning against all odds.
Thank you for your suggestions. I subscribed to several!
Rush and Levin are telling the TRUTH and telling it like it is.. they have not changed.
What HAS changed are American’s ready to toss their Conservative Principles due in part to anger towards the GOP-e not keeping their word.
If Rush is GOP-e I say American’s has lost their minds and are refusing to use their gift of reasoning..
Not a chance in a million RUSH is establishment.
Time will unfold this story...
This election has exposed talk radio hosts as establishmentarians. Hewitt, Medved, Gallagher... also “conservative” columnists. Not because they oppose Trump but because they are obviously doing the dirty work for the corrupt GOPe.
“Michael Medved gets turn off immediately, with Hugh Hewitt right behind, it’s laughable listening to him say he hasn’t taken sides and then tries everything in his power to humiliate any caller who supports Trump”
Hewitt was savaging Trump with the same zeal as Medved until Trump began doing phone interviews on Hewitt’s little GOPe radio show.
At that point Hewitt started pretending that he is neutral, with all of the oily sincerity of Eddie Haskell from Leave It To Beaver.
