Married man Ted Cruz denounced a supermarket tabloid tale alleging his affairs with serial mistresses, blaming nemesis Donald Trump for planting the bogus report.
The Texas senator came out swinging Friday at both The Donald and the National Enquirer over a two-page spread that identified his quintet of lovers as "a hooker, a teacher & coworkers."
The prostitute was billed in the story as a "$1,000-a-night Washington call girl."
"I want to be crystal clear: these attacks are garbage,” Cruz ranted on his Facebook page. “For Donald J. Trump to enlist his friends at the National Enquirer and his political henchmen to do his bidding shows you that there is no low (where) Donald won’t go."
At a campaign event, the son of a Texas preacher called the story charing him with multiple affairs as "complete and utter lies ... a tabloid smear."

After my 20 years on this site, I find your claim of an "innocent question" somewhat dubious. lol
But yes, the Enquirer is largely protected. Even if there were an avenue to sue, Hillary will be in her second term by the time Cruz would be awarded any monetary damages.
And I doubt there is a direct trail that would PROVE the Donald's involvement to commence a suit against Trump. I kind of view Donald's denial of involvement statement today as being very similar to Otter's denial of taking liberties with female party guests in Animal House.
I do like your duel idea, though. I'd settle for an onstage scuffle where Donald gets his brains beaten in.

The louder and longer someone proclaims their faith and/or trustworthiness, the harder I cling to both my wallet and my suspicions that they are a hypocrite at best and villainous at worst.

Something about Cruz I don’t like, regardless of how much I like his position on some issues. Obviously, support the winner of the primaries in the general, but there’s something Elmer Gantry of him, like a higher (much) IQ Huckabee.
I think the Mrs Trump ad was financed by the leader of Azerbaijan. Cruz jumped the gun on this and should NOT have blamed DT. There are just too many ways to get this crud out there and all he should have said is it is not true and the truth will be found out.
So many here were up in arms about the Duke rape rant. Y’all knew it was fake. Don’t you think we should wait before judging? I need evidence. Not just one person saying she did it and another saying she did, too. Where is the evidence?

I doubt this is Trumps doing. Sources have reported that Teddy didn’t just get a wild hare and run out all of a sudden and start having flings. This goes back to when he was Solicitor General in TX. You can’t blame Donald back that far. Usually a cheater that gets busted doesn’t get caught the first time. Likely Heidi has been through this before.
Why is Cruz not demanding a retraction? He’s supposedly high powered lawyer.

Yeh I hate to say it but he’s not threatening to sue or anything. I’d be screaming bloody murder. He’s probably just treading water hoping it will go away. That never happens if its true.
