Should Trump and Cruz unite with we the people against the establishment uni-party?

Posted on 03/16/2016 1:31:00 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. It’d be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.

And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.

A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.

Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.

So let’s quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.

IF it wasn’t for the fact that Donald attacked Ted on eligibility issue- puttign hte doubt into millions of people, then I woudl say yes- they shoudl unite- but now that Donald has caused the doubt- in many people’s minds, the left WILL exploit htis fear and hammer donald over it- Despite the fact that court after court may find Ted eligible- truth doesn’t matter to the left- perception is the only thing htey care about- They will simply claim ther courts got it wrong

I coudl be wrong, but i think that Ted would hurt the ticket because of what donald has done to him- There’s no undoign what he did- so i don’t think it’s a feasible option at this point- He’s also responsible for the whole ‘lying ted’ mantra that you know the left are going to hit hard on- I dont’ see donald asking ted to be VP for these reasons

Yes I see he did by Judge Pellegrini, who is a Democrat I found out. Could be he didn't want to knock out Ted just yet, because he wants it ruled negatively for him when it really counts.

In Illinois, Judge Maureen Ward Kirby of the Cook County Circuit Court dismissed the complaint brought by Lawrence Joyce, because he failed to properly serve Cruz and members of the Illinois State Board of Elections as required by law.

In New York, judge David Weinstein, did not address the suit's concern that Cruz is not eligible to run for president due to his birth in Canada, instead throwing out the case because the challenge was filed after the deadline to raise issues with the candidate.

In Florida, Broward County Circuit Court Judge John Bowman dismissed the case on procedural grounds, saying Voeltz should have sued the Florida secretary of state's office, which has the authority to take candidates off the ballot.

Bottom line, this case is far from being resolved. But you are correct, he did get a positive ruling from a Democrat judge in Pa.

If Trump and Cruz unite no way Cruz would lose this legal battle.

I am chagrined that the PA case did get some sort of jurisdiction /standing.

The first issue is how [Cruz] would function as the President of the Senate, having apparently burned bridges with many of its members, of both parties. It remains to be seen whether he would whip them into shape, or be faced with a revolt that would stymie the Trump agenda.

This is a very critical matter; well said on your part to call this out. I think both men could work much better together if Cruz were AG, not VP, not only because their personalities don't fit well, but also, importantly, your point above. But would Trump promising (and Cruz accepting) the AG slot also work to cow the GOPe into submission to avoid a brokered convention?

I believe without a radical conservative AG who is also a ball-buster, Trump would not be able to get a Reform agenda accomplished. So I'd really rather favor Christie or Guiliani in that role. This is a dilemma. Cruz isn't a ball buster; he's a pedant who pisses people off. Better for SCOTUS. But that is unlikely to convince the GOPe to beware of him teaming with Trump for 2016.

I could live with that. In fact, that would create a dynamic duo.
........................................

I could not! I am a Constitutionalist and I defend the Constitution as it was written. Cruz is not eligible! Furthermore I believe the only thing standing between the completion of Agenda 21 and the New World Order completely controlling our lives and freedoms is AMERICAN SOVEREIGNTY!
I would NEVER trust Cruz as he has voted AGAINST American Sovereignty and against the dictates of the Constitution. He is also a dirty liar with big time goals who will act for his own interests no matter whom he has to sell out.

My reply was to the original posters statement of many. Many assumes a plurality. A handful is some. When the primaries initially started, I would have liked to see a Trump/Cruz ticket, but over time I have learned things that I cannot overlook and do not support such a ticket. That being said, if it does happen, although unlikely, I will still vote for the Ticket, but I will be greatly disappointed.

I do however see Trump making a deal with Cruz. I just don’t see Cruz landing the VP position.

Surely you know I want ALL of that!!

But I believe Trump can achieve this without compromise!!

Trump is sharp...he has a fine intelligence...
.......but he also has a strength of heart and mind and a single minded purpose that defies the usual go along to get along.

I trust him.

I don’t trust Cruz.

Wow if this is true, omg so many Establishment heads are going to explode that it will be messy to clean up. In the beginning, I have posted about Ted Cruz and Donald Trump that for some odd reason I’m getting that this is all a kabuki theater for the Establishment to see.

I wonder if Ted Cruz allow the Establishment get involved in his campaign just to see what the hell they are planning only to voice that over to Donald.

Just saying, now let me put on my tin foil hat.

Cruz has stated that he does not want SCOTUS.

I think Cruz would be quite effective as President of the Senate

dropping out of the race for president (which frees his delegates to vote for anyone)

Not as I understand it. The delegates are committed to vote for Cruz regardless. They are bound committed delegates for the 1st vote in the convention. After the 1st vote they could vote for whomever they desire, but then so could bound committed delegates for Trump. Bound delegates are not necessarily supporters of the candidate they are bound to.

Perhaps I am not reading it right but, you can see for yourself. What Is A Bound Delegate? GOP Rules Mean Their Votes Could Be A Total Waste

Trump and Cruz should be having conversations. Cruz shoulder the best deal he can whether that be a VP slot or potentially a SC slot. Then he should get behind Trump and let’s finish the Jon against the GOPe.

Trump’s I.Q. is greater than Cruz’s. So much for intellectual rigor. Cruz can’t touch Trumps coattails when it comes to International and National Economics. What paycheck has Cruz ever signed except to himself?

They had standing, otherwise a ruling would not have been given. As for your belief that there is no way Cruz could lose, is just that your belief. Not knocking your belief but it is just not reality. A higher Court could then overrule this judge. Cruz could appeal and get a positive ruling. Hillary would take it all the way to the Supreme Court, rest assured. With the makeup of the Supreme Court no one knows what the outcome may be. If the Republicans confirm Merrick Garland then we can almost be assured of a positive outcome for Hillary.

to my intense surprise and utter amazement, a caller today to Rush told us he attended a meeting at the Trump Palm Beach place that was attended by Donald Trump, Ted Cruz and Dr Ben Carson

Thinking this through, it was either an incredible indiscretion or a deliberate leak. Snerdly or whoever screens the calls might have demanded to know the caller's identity, phone number or some proof of this assertion. On the other hand, maybe not.

Did the caller sound articulate in terms of policy, or rather, that they may have been a wine steward or waitstaff? If they worked for Trump, they probably don't any longer—so who else might have been there, since it was on his turf? Could the leaker have been with Carson's or Cruz's teams?
