The biggest plus is a Trump/Cruz ticket would immediately secure the nomination for us (the majority of the right-leaning grassroots voters), end any possibility of a GOPe betrayal at the convention, and would ensure the Republican party is finally with we the grassroots people (tea party, conservatives, religious people, economic conservatives, business people, middle class, blue collar, national security patriots, etc, ie, a rebirth of the Reagan Coalition) and against the globalist GOP big government establishment. Itd be a yuuuge middle finger to the elite ruling classes of both parties.
And it would have coattails guaranteeing a pro-America landslide against the America-hating Marxists and a strengthening of the Republican majority in the congress and in local and state governments. And finally begin a return to constitutional, pro-America, pro-free-market government and a reversal of the slide into godless socialism and globalism.
A mandate from we the people to secure the borders, enforce the law, deport the illegals, end sanctuary cities, end the war on Christianity, cut the taxes, cut the government, cut the regulations, end the war on American industry, end the war on coal gas & oil, bring back a growing economy, bring back manufacturing and jobs, and rebuild the military.
Unlike the GOPe, this is what real Americans want and what both candidates propose doing.
So lets quit bickering, join forces, and make it happen.
If if if...You always say that, and yet Trump continues to dominate even as candidates drop like flies.
“Can he trust Cruz? He seems too slippery for reliance. I wouldnt.”
Can anyone trust Trump? After all his flip flops he is by far the greater worry.
> We’re essentially at a tie with an edge to Trump
Cruz is distant second
Early on in the campaign, I would have given anything to find out that Cruz was truly qualified to run as president. Cruz was my favorite from the very beginning... But I also knew that Trump was correct when he said that the democrats would challenge his eligibility.
As the campaign progressed, it became clear to me that Cruz was being dishonest and underhanded in his tactics. His latest move (blaming Trump for liberal violence) should tell us EVERYTHING we need to know about Cruz and his “values”.
Finally, even if I did trust Cruz... he is just as ineligible to be vice president as he is ineligible to be president.... and a Trump/Cruz ticket is just as ineligible as a Cruz/Trump ticket.
A lot of the people who are currently crossing the isle to vote Trump would NOT vote in the general for him if he were to carry Cruz on the ticket. It’s that simple... Kind of like Palin and McCain.... Palin didn’t bring McCain down... McCain brought Palin down.
NO... Trump should NOT team up with Cruz. I’m convinced that Cruz is part of the very machine he has been bashing for the last two years from the halls of congress. He put up a good front, but he has shown his true colors during this campaign.
Cruz has every incentive to bag more delegates like Reagan did in 76. UNLESS Trump offers the VP spot.
Cruz is not stupid . He has plenty of time to be president.
Being Trump’s VP would maximize that chance. Question is, can Trump trust Ted?
I’m in.
It was my thinking before Iowa when Trump and Cruz were still playing nice with each other that that was their mutual plan...
there are issues with this ....
but the very least Cruz and Trump need to join to become the two new Wings in the GOP that are both have the one thing in common ...the end of the sellout the base GOPe... the rule of the country club RepublaDems crony capitalist left light elitist stuck-up snobs is ended...
Trump will have to understand though. Unlike his cabinet, he can't fire his VP./sarc
Look, facts change.
Trump HAS to respect how well Cruz has done.
Kennedy and Johnson ran together and the current differences are not nearly as great as between those two. When Kennedy realized that winning was more important than putting Johnson down, he made the necessary moves to make the compromise work. This is Trump’s only shot at the brass ring and if he can accept that he needs Cruz more than Cruz needs him, he could probably make it work. In any case, whoever heads the ticket will have to make the first move.
Yes. See tagline.
Long-time Cruz supporter.
Give it up Ted.
Take V.P. plus a guarantee of #1 Supreme Court Slot For Life.
It’ll be a total win.
I’ve thought from the very beginning that the perfect team would be Trump as President and Cruz as Vice-President.
Trump would MANAGE the government while Cruz would use his political knowledge and experience to Manage the legislature.
There could be no greater boon to America’s reconstruction than that!
Nothing else can be said.
Kasich isn’t going anywhere. Look at Illinois. His strong hold was his home state and he was the sitting Governor. Outside of Ohio, Kasich isn’t going to do much more.
I will add to what you seem to be saying. In a Trump/Cruz alliance each would supply certain strengths to make up for the weaknesses of the other. It might work far better than you would imagine. If both are committed to the security and well-being of the nation as whole as founded, there is no reason that this could not work well and win the general.
I’m in.
I’m a Cruz supporter, but there are things I like about Trump more than Cruz and vice-versus. The two would compliment each other. However I’m afraid that there may have been too much come between them during the campaign for their egos to forgive.
YES!
Yes.
I will support a Trump/ Cruz ticket.
Trump already agreed with Ted about policy positions in a debate.
Trump would learn all about the Triad and how to use the FTC as tool to implement free market reforms.
Cruz would learn how broaden his appeal.
Very complementary paring.
Cruz can run 4 more times. Cruz thinks this is Reagan’s 1976. But it might be Santorum’s 2012. We don’t know.
If Trump is smart, he makes a deal. If Cruz is smart, he makes a very good deal. Cruz showed he will have a very hard time climbing the hill to President. He can drive a hard bargain and win more now than he is ever likely to in the future.
Frankly, the Republican Party is not conservative. I doubt it ever will be again. Therefore, a conservative like Cruz will have a nearly impossible time ever winning the Presidency. So take the next best thing, Ted. It’s POSSIBLE.
I say, TAKE THE DEAL.
