Breaking: Cruz Negotiating With Trump for VP Spot

A high ranking Cruz campaign official has told Elect Leaders that Sen. Cruz is in negotiations with Mr. Trump to become his Vice Presidential Nominee after Rubio dropped out Tuesday. Sen. Cruz has been the most consistent performer in primaries behind Trump. They are seeing the writing on the wall and want to negotiate from a point of strength which will evaporate over time.

The official stated Mr. Trump is interested in using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election, likes his appeal to the conservative base and his stance on immigration. Of the other options for VP none hold as strong of an opinion on immigration outside of Governor Jan Brewer from Arizona who is also being considered.

Senator Cruz in exchange for his support is wanting to be named to the Supreme Court if an opening occurs while Mr. Trump is president. Mr. Trump does not see this as an issue and a small price to pay to bring Sen. Cruz his fundraisers, donors and staff on board

If Trump becomes president he could still nominate Cruz for SCOTUS. Taking Cruz out of the race releases a lot of delegates. If Cruz endorses Trump, that would probably checkmate the GOPe.

We’ll know it’s true if the Left and gop-e faint dead away over this.

If true, champagne time. We won.

Bee Ess.

Trump intensely dislikes liars. “...using Sen. Cruz’s ground game in the general election,...his stance on immigration...” all lies. Trump had been planning for this election for a very long time. Sen.Cruz is only flattering himself if he imagines that Trump needs him.

It would be stupid to put someone with no integrity in the VP slot, someone who has been a Bushie for over twenty years.

Agreed. But he could be nominated from the VP chair and then have another person nominated to serve as VP.

Seems to good to be true because it makes the most sense for The Republicans to win. The voters will certainly coalesce if these two bury the hatchet and you know the establishment and Romney Inc will no doubt sh#% their pants. Please let it be true.

If this happens, Cruz needs to instruct the delegates he owns to vote for Trump. Not sure if that can happen? Larry?

If he’s not eligible for potus he’s not eligible for vp, unfortunately.

He should settle for SC.

Trump/Cruz ‘16
Trump/Cruz ‘20
Cruz/Lee ‘24
Cruz/Lee ‘28

Works for me.
Cruz would peel off some of the hispanic vote and keep Texas red.

After Trump repeatedly called him a liar? I don’t know. I can see the Dem campaign commercials now.

Get Cruz as VP.
Then nominate him as Supreme Court Justice and nominate the person you really want.
