During a recent campaign event, presidential candidate Bernie Sanders shed some light on his plans for the trucking industry.
In the short clip, which can seen above, Sanders promised to do great things if elected president, including creating a state of the art rail system which takes trucks off the road.
The crowd at the event responded with thunderous applause.
Several drivers immediately contacted us, expressing concern over the statements. This guy has to be stopped said one reader.
What do you think?
Is it political rhetoric used to excite uninformed followers, or will the trucking industry be significantly downsized under a Sanders presidency? Let us know your thoughts on Facebook and in the comments below.
Bernie Sanders needs to be doing the one job he is qualified for and that is rolling the empty carts in the WalMart parking lot back into the store.
So , there are going to be rail sidings to EVERY McDonalds, Walgreens, Family Dollar, 7-11 etc that I deliver???
Going to be REAL costly to build a railroad line to some of the desolate Texas towns I deliver .
I am all for increasing our rail system. I just don’t want any government officials or taxpayer dollars involved. Let private enterprise build it and run it if they wish.
Hospitals shut down in a week
Supplies of essential gasses like Oxygen ....maybe a couple of months
Supermarkets ,...3 days
7/11 and similar ....1 day
We can’t have underground pipelines, but train tracks criss crossing every inch of land in the country is okay by Bernie.
Makes perfect sense. Once he gets in, the only factories allowed will be state-owned and -run. They’ll be built with new rail spurs connecting them to the network. Then, since all private businesses will be driven out, the only stores will be the new state-run stores built, again, on spurs off the main rail lines. You’ll get your ration card and have to travel (by public transport, natch) to the store twice a month to receive your allotment of goods and food.
It’s the “Wisdom of Markets” at work. Millions of people making countless small decisions in their own best interest leads to far superior optimization and wealth than any central planning ever could. You are right — get the GD govt out of the way and let the logistic experts and customers decide if they should use people on their feet, bicycle messengers, robot cars, mini vans, small trucks, large trucks, trains, boats or planes.
The commie drops more of his mask every day. Send him to Venezuela. They deserve him.
Where does this come from? We have a 30-something who needs education...please post source.
I took the bus for 20 years and my shoulders and elbows really took a beating carrying all my stuff around. Didn’t drive until my early 40s, and I’m sorry I waited so long!
Got any unimpeachable sources for this Bernie bio? I’d love to stick it in the face of a few people, but I want to be certain of facts.
“What is it with democrats and their obsession with trains? Perhaps there will be special lines to transport people to special camps”
Lefties love state-run mass transit (trains, buses), because it allows them to control movement and access. The plan always has been to force people into cities where they won’t “need” personal transportation, which they will outlaw, citing environmental and safety concerns.
And I think these “high speed rail” boondoggles enable the politicians to waste all the transportation money so they don’t have to spend it building more roads for evil cars and trucks.
Rail systems do make it easier to haul away political prisoners en mass, I have to admit.
So, Bernie Sanders is actually Freddie Green?
I copied the text from a newspaper article, abridged it to fit, but if you use some unique keywords I’m sure google or bing will find it for you in a second.
See #50.
Maybe the basket weaving majors Sanders loves so much can design his stupid trains.
And the Teamsters support this guy?
Trains are how you get the ones that you don't approve of to the ovens....
