Ted Cruz Says Donald Trump Is to Blame for Violence at His Rallies

Senator Ted Cruz of Texas said on Friday that Donald J. Trump bore responsibility for “creating an environment” that encourages violence at his events.

Speaking to reporters at a local Republican dinner outside Chicago, where Mr. Trump had just canceled a rally amid fierce confrontations between his supporters and protesters, Mr. Cruz began by saying that the “protesters who took violence into their own hands” were responsible for the episode.

“But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top,” Mr. Cruz continued. “And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discourse.”

Mr. Cruz invoked the protests and violent police run-ins at the 1968 Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and predicted that future skirmishes were likely.

“When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates,” Mr. Cruz said. “And today is unlikely to be the last such instance.”

If there is any 'cult' rearing it's ugly head, it's the cult of the 'annointed' Ted Cruz and his perceived ultimate role in 'ruling' our society because God has 'chosen' him to do so, and transferring the 'wealth of the wicked to the righteous', meanwhile his insane mouthpiece Glenn Beck states that God snuffed out Scalia to get the attention of voters to support Cruz due to the urgent nature of filling the next vacancy on the SCOTUS.

And don't forget all those religious appeals to "awaken and energize the body of Christ" and "put on the full armor of God" (in Iowa) which mysteriously disappeared in New Hampshire.

The evangelical voters of South Carolina didn't fall for that clap trap, Cruz didn't even win ONE county there, so you might want to ponder that 'inconvenient truth' for a while before you pipe up again about a 'Trump cult', capeche?

A good man running for President and thousands of decent Americans who support him were denied their rights to free assembly and speech. Cruz, who knows law and rights chose to ignore the violators and instead blame Trump as somehow being the blame. Anyone who can support such a dishonorable man is no friend of mine.

This will backfire on Bernie, MoveOn, BLM, and the rest.

They can revel in their show of power for the moment. But they have succeeded in bringing more people to the conclusion that there can only be peace if they are utterly destroyed.

That is my concern now too. It is now an organized effort to stop Trump, at whatever the cost. I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Cruz. He is so desperate to win, he will accept/say anything to take Trump out. I just had to unfriend 2 FB people that I have known for years, as they seem unhinged now in Trump hatred.
