Cruz: Trump Campaign Bears Responsibility For Creating Environment Encouraging Violence
Washington Free Beacon ^ | 3-11-2016 | Aaron Kliegman

Posted on 03/11/2016 9:57:10 PM PST by Brookhaven

Republican presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) said Friday night that primary frontrunner Donald Trump’s campaign is responsible for creating an environment that encourages violence after a Trump rally was cancelled because clashes broke out when protestors entered the event.

Speaking at a press conference, Cruz told reporters he “thinks a campaign bears responsibility for creating an environment [of violence]. When the candidate urges supporters to engage in physical violence, to punch people in the face, the predictable consequence of that is that it escalates.”

Correct, we have zotted THOUSANDS here over the years for trolling here, you may soon be one more of them. Jim has rules...it is HIS HOUSE.

Indeed he does and indeed it is. So, can you tell me what, if any of those rules I have violated?

I've gone on record as saying that my decision to vote for Trump (the presumptive nominee) will more than likely not come until later this year after he has won the nomination. Because I want to observe to see if his positions change after winning the nomination. Which, historically is what a candidate does to garner more centrist votes. That is, of course, unless you believe that Trump's conservative bona fides are beyond question and it's not possible to have a reasonable doubt after that point.

Would this, in your view, be a banning offense?

Most corrupt practices in a Republican race ever.

Most devilish look at Ted, Kasich and Rubio that I thought I would never see.
Truely the probable end of the Republican Party.

If Trump wins the most delegates and loses the nomination I will never vote Republican again and will be looking to work against every Rino I see.

Maybe the Tea Party takes over for the Republican Party.

I was a Cruz supporter early on, but have seen these last couple of months that he continues to demonstrate poor judgement and lack of integrity and ethics. He is a liar.

This statement from Sen Ted makes me weep. To think that ‘in the beginning’ I would have voted for him, NBC doubted and all...due to the fact he was the only one who was considered to be on MY SIDE. Now he is found to be a garden variety weasel - nothing more. There are no answers of any type from Sen Ted. Only more questions as to why? Texas has been blinded and raped by too many ?men? who have come through our state on their way to higher places.

This evening a special prayer will be offered for this unexceptional ?man?.

Trump only talks about himself and his campaign- sounds like a typical 1980s era Democrat politician.

Yes he has and it’s disheartening in a way but, enlightening too. Cruz has shown his true colors and I’m glad for that.

I am willing to bet once Ted realizes he step in it by blaming Trump he will talk it back hard and fast I expect him to loudly contemn the protester tomorrow AM.

He might want to think about his best buddy Glenn Beck hateful language towards Trump and Becks threats to stab Trump. After all the responsibility begins at the top eh Ted.

Not me sweetie. Trump all the way an no butthurt.

I look forward to Trump responding to this and completely annihilating Cruz tomorrow because it’s gonna happen :)

Cruz got used by the GOP, the Dems, the Media, moveon and the rest and tomorrow he’s gonna pay for being stupid. I can’t wait to see how he loses the next round of primaries. This just made Americans, real Americans, stronger.

So, you think the Left won and you’re glad about that?

Tells me all I need to know.

Nice. This is what they will use and he’s screwed.

It’s surprising more didn’t see it this way. His supporters are gonna wish he took the high road.

It appears from his statement Ted Cruz advocates the political equivalent of her skirt was too short, and she deserved to be raped for it.....you know, ‘for creating an environment’.

You are spot on, and I found Ted’s remarks very upsetting!!!!!!!!!

Me too (3 times) I started to worry about Ted when he sided with the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) in Egypt rather than the military that over threw the MB government. Cruz wanted to punish the new government and I thought Ted WTF why are you siding with the MB. He quickly back tracted on that. Next came his support for legalizing illegals and massively increasing legal immigration. I was not happy about that because I knew his no pathway to citizenship was Bull. Then came TPA/TPP and reauthorizing the Patriot Act and I was finished with Ted Cruz. Perhaps Dan Patrick will primary him, I sure would like to see that happen.

Think about it... No one who gets to know Ted Cruz likes him... His former roommate can’t say one nice word about him.. All his conservative friends have endorsed someone else ...he’s not what he makes out to be..

Cruz is running for President, not SCOTUS. I've never heard him talk about wanting to be on SCOTUS. In fact, the ONLY people saying he'd make a "great SCOTUS justice" are your fellow Trump supporters trying to convince us that if we elect liberal Donald Trump, he'll put Cruz on the court instead of his fellow liberals. It's the talking point they're on now after the "Cruz would make a good running mate for my man Trump" didn't work.

Believe me, after tonight's debacle, you will never see or hear a Trump supporter say another word advocating Ted Cruz for VP, SCOTUS, or dog-catcher, as long as he lives.

We'll see. I think Trump is going to have bigger problems on his hands over the next four days than trying to pin this on Cruz. What's he gonna do? Pull the Obama card, "it's everyone's fault but mine." Yeah, that's not going to fly.

Maybe he successfully changes the narrative to describe a conspiracy between the left-wing groups and the GOPe (as what's been described here) and maybe he doesn't. You think that story is going to stick?

Maybe he makes a first amendment argument like the slick huckster lawyer he is not. Trump supporters say constitutional arguments don't work for Cruz, why should they work for Trump? Can he even elucidate that type of argument?

And even if he does, how does he not come off as a whiner akin to Bernie Sanders having his rally taken over by BLM?

So, you think the Left won and you’re glad about that? Tells me all I need to know.

No, I'm marveling at the gall of Trump supporters, after everything they've said about Cruz crying about him not backing up their candidate. Politics ain't beanbag. Is that not a constant refrain of the Trump contingent?

And don't tell me it's about the Constitution because Trump supporters abandoned any semblance of the Constitution, conservatism and limited government when they bought Trump's, "If we only had somebody SMART in charge then we'd get what we need out of the federal government."

The only one who had a decent response to this was Rubio.

I’m so angry at Cruz right now I’m have difficulty sleeping. He’s betrayed us and I will never forgive him for tonight.
