Cruz, Rubio and Kasich criticize Trump for creating ‘environment’ for Chicago protest
The Washington Post ^ | March 11, 2015 | David Weigel

"The responsibility for that lies with protesters, who took violence into their own hands. But in any campaign, responsibility starts at the top. Any candidate is responsible for the culture of a campaign. And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord," Cruz said

I thought "Cruzbag" was kind of funny. It was at least a 7 on the FR al baby scale.

Don't worry, Outlaw - I laugh at Trump slurs, too. :)

I think this is a legitimate criticism by Cruz.

Why do you suppose these organized violent leftist anarchist enemies of America aren't sending in thugs against Ted Cruz?

Because they KNOW HE IS NOT THREAT TO THEIR POWER.

Pussycat.

Political violence = violence used to achieve political goals.

Tonight we saw organized political activists directed to shut down a political speech. They were encouraged to use violence … to help the new narrative that “Trump and his people are fascists.”

Cruz could have said “violence to shut down political speech is abhorrent.” Heck, Cruz agrees with 90% of Trump’s stated policies. His problem, or so he says, is that Trump doesn’t mean what he’s saying. Why then would Cruz want Trump’s speech stopped? Its not the content that’s the problem (I would still argue its abhorrent to want speech you disagree with stopped by violence, but that’s not the point). Cruz used the events of tonight to … yet again … levy a POLITICAL attack. This time, its the “tone” of Trump’s campaign he’s criticizing. Cruz has, in my opinion, completely lost his mind at this point. At some point he decided to quit doing what was right in order to advance himself. He doesn’t have Trump’s gravitas or persona. But he had honor and trustworthiness. For me, he’s lost both at this point. Its been building for a week or two - but this was crossing the Rubicon.

I am a veteran...I would just love to get close enough to Bill Ayers to feed him that poster of him standing on the American Flag...

You know, I think that is a good refreshment choice. The schmuck is probably vegan...

The violence is being instigated by Obama’s rioters. If you can’t understand that he’s behind this, I’ll help you buy a clue.

He created the BLM. He openly praises the BLM. He is the one who pulls their strings.

He also created OWS. BLM is more effective because it can operate in more than just one city and its made up of his fellow racists.

You are trying to explain how things are to people that live so far back in the sticks that they dont even realize how America is being invaded.

They live in Whitbread world. They wouldn’t know a Black Lives Protestor from a Frenchman. It’s pointless. They are with the Americans or against them. No further explanation is needed.

And when you have a campaign that disrespects the voters, when you have a campaign that affirmatively encourages violence, when you have a campaign that is facing allegations of physical violence against members of the press, you create an environment that only encourages this sort of nasty discord,” Cruz said, citing an event in Florida that had already led to a criminal complaint, but not heretofore been mentioned by a rival candidate.

“It is my hope that going forward we will have a substantive, issue-based discussion, where we can have differences about how we turn this country around, that we do so in a way that appeals to our better angels instead of our worst instincts,” Cruz continued. “That seeks to pull us together, and unite us, instead of tear us apart. You know, we’ve seen for seven years a president who often at times of crisis, has sought to divide us, sought to divide us on ethnic lines, on religious lines, on class lines. America’s better than this. We don’t have to tear each other apart.”

Because you believe that, you can take your Cruz and the horse he rode in on.
