Friday, March 11, 2016: At a media availability in Chicago, Ted Cruz basically blamed Donald Trump for the violence and protests that occurred earlier in the day at a Donald Trump rally at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The rally had to be cancelled due to safety concerns.

After watching the news for the last couple of hours, no one was denied fee speech. The right to peaceful assembly, Yes. And it was wrong.

But the violent rhetoric encourages violence and there are way too many out there that are ready to be matters and false ‘victims’. This is just the start.

So, don't call Trump your adolescent names.

It's okay for Trump though.

The thing that bothers me most is this is just the first such event of its kind. This will get worse.

Either they will shut Trump down and drive him from the race, or Trump's supporters will fight force with force.

The regime isn't going to protect Trump. Hell, the other REPUBLICANS aren't going to stand up for his right to speak.

this is going to get bloody, and fast.

When you watched the video what all did you hear?

It’s no secret that trump has advocated violent response to protesters.

“I fear that either we fold now, or we fight back.”

Trump just won a lot of Democrat and Republican votes tonight by exercising cautious restraint. Expect to see him respond to this violence in unexpected ways when this postponed political rally is rescheduled.

No sir, I watched the news too and Free Speech was most certainly discussed in the context of those wanting to hear Trump were denied it. This was on Fox, no friendly outlet to Trump. We strongly differ, you and I.

Trump got over 10 hours of free media from this. He’ll dominate the coverage over the weekend.

Some people missed out on a good show. No one was “denied free speech”. Instead of an arena he has gotten to speak to millions.

Gun Owners of America seems to have degenerated into an arm of the Cruz campaign. I just sent them an email cancelling my membership. There are plenty of other run rights organizations to contribute to.

The Chicago police closed the rally since they were unprepared.

Chicago is a mess. It always was a mess.

When I was in Chicago in 1975, a bartender jumped over the bar and tore my shirt off because I said something nice to his girlfriend. I did not know it was his girlfriend. When I told him that, he started wailing on me. Zombies have more class.

I had a Chevy van and these fools wanted me to come over and party with them if I would take over a business sign they would steal off the wall and put into my van.

I parked my van on the other side of the street because they were to run a street cleaner down the other side. The neighbor on the other side of the street banged on my door and was mad as hell that I parked in his parking space. No civility especially when there was good parking spaces nearby and this inconvenience was only for one day.

I saw a driver run a family of five off the road because they did not like them slowing them down to the speed limit.

Down town Chicago was a ghost town after 6 PM. When dark settled in, you risk your life.

My cousin, who lived there, had to live in an apartment with a guard at the door. I had to talk on a closed circuit phone to get her to send the elevator down.

I discovered that all the burned out buildings were the result of owners burning down their companies to collect the insurance money. Believe me, there were lots of burned out buildings.

The only person I met who was decent, was Mary Matalin.

I hated Chicago with a passion. Their mayor, Richard Daley was a POS. I could go on!

I saw Cruz was a fake conservative after watching these video's. Now he has flipped 180 to fool the real good people of this country, honest and patriotic conservative people.

I’ve been struggling with this all day. If Cruz is the nominee, do I hold my nose to keep Hillary out? (It was yet another crappy comment by a Cruz supporter that drove the question.)

You don’t have to worry. Cruz will never be POTUS. If the choice comes where he is on the ballot just follow the Romney Rule and write in your preferred conservative candidate.

I believe every word you say. I moved out to Downers Grove in 1970 from Chicago, and that was and probably still is a very nice place to live. I worked at Stoney Island and 93rd street and lived in DG! Driving on 87th street, through entire city was a dreadfully risky affair, but I was young and strong, and handled it. Once my car broke down at 95th & Halstead going home in winter. I opens the hood to see why my car was smoking, and a mob gathered around me. Luckily I had a jug of water in my car, I poured it in the coolant tank and drove off to 95th & Kedzie and had the gas station replace my damaged fan belt.
