Donald Trump brought a surprise to Thursday night's debate—an endorsement from former presidential rival Ben Carson.
The New York billionaire was asked by moderator Jake Tapper what his specific issues were with Common Core when he pivoted to his endorsement.
“I was with Dr. Carson today, who’s endorsing me by the way tomorrow morning, and we spoke for over an hour on education,” Trump said. “He wants a lot of different things that are terrific.”
“I’m gonna have Ben very much involved with education,” Trump said.

That’s a fortunate win for him, no doubt. I think the race will tighten here with Trump and Cruz.
Donald, if you don't raise your voice even one time in the debate, then you have my endorsement... Bingo! LOL
I think the Cruz ground game tonight is: Hack Drudge Poll against Trump voters, vote Cruz in Drudge Poll, trash Carson for endorsement.
From Carson supporter’s remarks upon hearing this news, I think Cruz is about to pick up most of them.

Well, I assure you I’m listening, and I like what Trump’s saying. And from the polling, I’d say that so are a lot of other people. Most folks here on FR are “listeners” and on the FR Caucus it’s been 2 to 1 ( or more) Trump day after day. Could it be that for whatever reason you just march to a different drummer?
You aren’t using the current term: he was “low energy”! (and incoherent).
Note that he said the China tariff, a bad idea to begin with was just “a threat”. That wall he talks about is nothing more than a threat, too.

Not surprised by this... esp after watching the video of Trump patiently waiting with Carson during the snafu where he was waiting in the wings behind the debate stage. The faces of all the other candidates who just brushed past him was priceless.
He understands the wisdom: “When you’ve won, stop talking.”
Civility just isn’t Trump’s cup O’ tea. Xanax helped a lot tonight except for the Walter impersonation.
Donald better get back to Liar Liar, cussin and spittin, otherwise his folks will think he’s quitting.
