Limbaugh: Establishment has to be 'all-in' for Cruz to win
Politico ^ | 3/10/2016 | Nick Gass

If Ted Cruz is to come from behind and win the Republican nomination, it's "gonna take an entire unity effort" to win support from the establishment, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday.

The comment from Limbaugh, who has not formally backed any candidate, is the latest indication that the iconoclastic Texas senator will have his work cut out for him as he seeks to cut off Donald Trump.

Limbaugh presented two theories, the first of which assumed that Cruz accepts the premise that he still has time to get to 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention, adding that "to essentially beat Trump by unifying everybody, there's a big part of this that also has to get behind Cruz."

“I’m surprised we can form sentences”

It’s difficult. I have to keep wiping the drool away. Funny thing, though. Cruz loved me when I was working so hard to get him elected to Senate.

But hey, guess I was just a useful tool. That’s how the GOP establishment treats all of us. Cruz is establishment now, 100%.

It's an observation...if you want this to happen, then you need to do that. Are you so clueless that after all these years, you think every word out of Rush's mouth is an endorsement of some kind of action. Rush is much more sophisticated than that. Rush will never say who he supports. He has said a lot of good observations about Trump, too and bad observations about Cruz.

Rush is correct about what he says. He is commenting on how strong Trump is and that the only way to beat him is to start supporting Cruz this minute and put all their energies into it. He is not saying me or anyone else should do it, he is just saying this is what it will take. Will this happen? Doubtful.

You, more or less, are blaming the messenger.

If the establishment lines up behind Cruz, he won’t win another state.

This election cycle it is certain death to be “one of them”. And taking on the Bush family in so many positions within his campaign will not play well with most voters.

Hiring Neil may tip the scales against Cruz a little, but becoming the only anti-Trump will allow Trump to paint Cruz as Mr Establishment for everyone to see.

Doesn’t sound like he is advocating anything. He’s just doing what he does. Yes Rush lives the good life, sounds like you are saying that is the reason you don’t listen to him. Ironic if you support Trump.

If you didn’t listen to the show then you can really read too much in these stupid articles. It doesn’t tell you what Rush was talking about.

Cruz didn’t support Corker. He, with little help, fought it tooth and nail. At the end when it was obvious it was going to pass he voted for it as a procedural move so that he could bring it up and attack it later.

Stop spreading inaccurate information.

TPA is a weird vote but since it was a secret bill no one can say what his motivation was there.

So you are going to write off Cruz because of one vote you know nothing about? When he was the biggest freshman bull dog for the constitution we have seen in 150 years? Is that good analysis?

Your post and the idiot post above about Cruz being a bushie just make me tired.

Trump is probably going to get elected. And then I very much suspect his is going to screw us royally especially with SC nominations. We shall see. I hope I’m wrong.

I do agree it doesn’t look good having GOPe on your side no doubt. It’s a tough spot.

But then maybe GOPe knows that and they are sabotaging him to help Trump ;-)

Ted Cruz, A Bush By Another Name

http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/10/ted-cruz-a-bush-by-another-name/

“Cruz and his establishment puppet masters are engaged in an aggressive strategy against Trump. The false narrative of course being that Cruz is the outsider while Trump is the insider.”

“Nothing could be farther from the truth.”

“In its most simplistic terms – the power elite have no leverage over Trump – nothing. Cruz, on the other hand, is the establishment’s quisling, spawned by the Bushes and controlled by Wall Street, who became a strident “outsider” only four years ago.”

I guess they stay home and pout on principle

but the pouters will be replaced and exceeded by millions of Reagan democrat crossover voters and probably a fair share of disenchanted Bernie voters looking to screw Hillary for revenge

The democrats know this

that is why the false narrative about Trump losing to Hillary is being sworn by both parties

If the democrats truly believed Trump was a loser they’d be pushing his candidacy, hard! Telling their folks to go vote for him to screw the GOP!

(crickets)

That might have been possible except for the tens of millions they’ve spent to stop him.

But that’s pocket change to them...

“Cruz has only acquired 69% of the delegates needed”

Clearly Cruz only needs to stick his nose in the air a little higher while having his supporters tell the rest of us how horrible we are, how stupid we are, how we are non-Christian, no morals, etc. If they keep up that attitude, they will win for sure! Mirrors the Obama method. GOP approves.

I know they can and if they do that it’s a death blow to GOPe.

Trump would run 3rd party no doubt if the rule change allows them to put Kasich in there or someone that didn’t even run.

To be honest even if they lower the delegate count so that Trump or Cruz can win on the first vote that is BS too. The rules that they started with need to be the ones they use. They stacked the rules to help Jeb and that backfired. If that ends up getting us Trump so be it—I don’t like Trump but anything else is BS and I would probably support Trump in a 3rd party bid if they tried that crap.

Rush has gotten caught in his own irrational cross-hairs. For months and months he’s insisted that the Establishment hates Cruz more than it does Trump. Now, even though it’s clear the GOPe is supporting Cruz, Rush still insists Cruz is their biggest nemesis. Huh? So then why... ???? oh never mind. These days Rush’s mind is like a spinning top. The weirdest thing though: he actually seems to think no one is noticing.

It’s Trump that is loving uneducated supporters. You should be thanking him not Cruz ;-)

Mostly we just mush our Cheetos-covered hands into our keyboard and words just happen to fall into place, and in the right order! :)

If these men really REALLY believed what they are telling Ted, that he is the only candidate who can beat Trump, then why won’t it be a 2 man, mano e mano race before next Wednesday?

hey Ted, you listening?

Thanks for the corker clarification. I never understood that one much but keep seeing it mentioned.

To be honest I wasn’t happy with his TPA support but he did flip on TPP so he got some wisdom on it. And if Trump can flip on giving Hillary money Cruz can flip on TPP and TPA.

Exactly! If it’s not 1-on-1 GOPe wants Trump over Cruz. It’s pretty obvious.

"just what do you think tens of millions of Trump supporters are going to do to the GOP"

You mean the same Trump supporters who are constantly telling me that not voting for Trump is the same as voting for Clinton?

If they have any integrity at all, they will vote for whoever gets the Republican nomination.

If they won't, then they need to stop telling me I must vote for their vulgar clown candidate.

All Cruz needs is one-on-one with Trump. The rest is noise.
