Limbaugh: Establishment has to be 'all-in' for Cruz to win
Politico ^ | 3/10/2016 | Nick Gass

If Ted Cruz is to come from behind and win the Republican nomination, it's "gonna take an entire unity effort" to win support from the establishment, Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Thursday.

The comment from Limbaugh, who has not formally backed any candidate, is the latest indication that the iconoclastic Texas senator will have his work cut out for him as he seeks to cut off Donald Trump.

Limbaugh presented two theories, the first of which assumed that Cruz accepts the premise that he still has time to get to 1,237 delegates before the Republican National Convention, adding that "to essentially beat Trump by unifying everybody, there's a big part of this that also has to get behind Cruz."

LMAO! Good one. That’s almost as far fetched as calling Trump a conservative!

Rush explained that Cruz will never get Trump voters but the anti-Trump forces are greater than Trump. Thus if Cruz unites all the anti-Trump (Kasich/Rubio drop out) that the GOP can put him over the top.

I’m starting to think that even Rush doesn’t get this if he thinks Cruz supporters won’t mind the GOP coming on-board.

He’s having a My Little Pony Party with Jeb, Rubio, and Kasich.

It’s not hard to see.

I don’t believe Cruz can win at this point.

I DO believe the Establishment will try to use him to prevent Trump from getting the necessary number of delegates to win on the 1st ballot. If they’re sucessful, they’ll toss Cruz under the bus and attempt to install one of their favorites (Romney, JEB, Kasich, etc).

We’ll see.

there was a big unity effort that got the dubiously conservative Juan McPain and Mittens Romney the republican nominations, as I recall

back to the “hold your nose and vote” appeal to the masses

Sorry Rushbo, I don’t think 3 times is the charm

Sanders is looking like a good checkmate Hillary vote if Trump is off the tab;e

- $500,000 donation to Carly in 2015
- JEBisito campaign team joining Canuck Ted
- Neil Bush endorsed

He seemed not to even consider that as a thought. The guy who said they were never going to give it to Cruz, but to Kasich had Rush stumped for a response. The truth is that Kasich probably won’t get top billing either. They will bring in Romney or Jeb. Hell, George H.W. Bush has another term of eligibility, bring him back. Bush/Dole.

I dunno. There are a lot of us low info knuckle draggers out here who may not understand or fully appreciate some of the finer more sophisticated points of the Cruz campaign. Being uneducated and all, we’re more used to brute force and name-calling. Cruz is learning our ways though. there may be hope for him yet. Call us a few more nasty names and rough us up a little to get our attention. It’s for our own good. All the elites tell us so.

No the GOPe needs to sell out to back Cruz. No one is saying Cruz needs to change...the message is the GOPe needs to pick a horse.

Really it comes down to 3 options for the GOPe.

1) Trump - then hope he doesn’t hurt down level candidates
2) Cruz - then hope he doesn’t hurt down level candidates

The GOPe is looking to protect their jobs...which in this case who will hurt them the least. If they don’t back Cruz that means they are siding with Trump. So then Trump is the GOPe candidate. If they back Cruz that means Cruz is the GOPe candidate.

So all those calling Cruz GOPe...that means Trump will be GOPe if the GOPe doesn’t back Cruz all-in. So that means Rubio needs to drop out today (before the debate...or if not before he needs to be all out against Trump or Cruz). That will be telling if Rubio attacks Cruz and not Trump (and vice versa). But he also needs to get out before Florida if he’s backing Cruz. If GOPe wants Trump Rubio needs to stay in until after Florida.

If Cruz is dumb enough to believe the uniparty is behind him he doesn’t deserve the nomination.

and now he’s got Neil Bush on his “finance staff” and has been summoned to dinner next week with Jeb as one of the GOPe Gang of Four

Is he going to take Bush money? Oh wait, it’s for a noble cause of rigging the convention rules, right

Limbaugh is all in for Cruz. He does not want to endorse because of losing his audience but he is pushing Cruz every single chance he can.

He is basically signaling the establishment Republicans what needs to be done to get his boy in and Trump out.
