Romney touts Cruz wins over Trump, will not reject GOP nod if drafted at convention
Fox News ^ | 03/06/16

Mitt Romney said Sunday that GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz winning two primary states this weekend proves the Texas senator can stop front-runner Donald Trump, but declined to rule out his own White House scenario.

Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and the Republicans' 2012 presidential nominee, repeated remarks from last week, telling “Fox News Sunday” that he wouldn’t launch an eleventh-hour campaign for president. But he declined to reject being “drafted” at the GOP convention in July to be the party’s general election candidate.

“It would be absurd to say that if I were drafted I’d say no,” Romney said. “We have four strong people running for the nomination. One of them will be the nominee.”

Romney has occasionally weighed in on the 2016 GOP race. But he emerged in full force Thursday when he gave a speech in which he called Trump a “phony” and urged voters to instead back an establishment candidate like Cruz, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio or Ohio Gov. John Kasich.

“Romney & Ryan already filed papers to run for President 4& VP on Jan 30, 2016.

They are planning a Trojan Horse attack on the voters.......”

And 2+2 equals 4. Why is it so hard for some people to see?

Not sure why Cruz voters now just admit that the establishment is behind Cruz

“Yes there are differences between primaries and caucuses. Fairness is not one of them. It is the open and closed issue that makes some fair and some not. They should all be closed to all except registered republicans.”
______________

“Fair” is open to interpretation; however, even if the process is “fair” based upon your interpretation of the term; if we lose this election it really won’t matter; as nothing will ever be “fair” again once we have been inundated by waves of Central and South American indigents.

This election is about a LOT more than just Conservatism.

Cruz has no idea the butt hurt waiting for him, if he manages to pull into the lead. Bank on it. GOPe has no use for him either, but will use him willingly.

Cruz got votes because many people believe in him. I don’t think Romney had anything to do with his wins, even if he wants to take credit for it. It ticks me off that Romney endorses Cruz, but then says he is open to be drafted.

The GOPe will support Cruz only until he defeats Trump, then the knives come out. Totally predictable.

>If you listen, you will hear “vote for cruise.” Not because they want him to be president, but because his losing to hillary may be the only way to stop Trump.

What he actually recommended is to vote for Cruz in states where Cruz is strong, for Rubio where he has a chance, and for Kasich where he might win.

This is a distinction without a difference. Kasick has a shot at maybe 1 state and the rube is nowhere.

Heh....no.

I think it’s going to become quite clear soon what the Gope pulled here very soon.

“Mitt, the voters didn’t want you in ‘12. Do you really think that they would want you after being shoved down our throats by the establishment?”

Don’t forget that the voters also rejected Mitt in the 2008 primary. He’s got a lot of nerve peeping out from under his rock to sling mud at a candidate who has gained a winning level of support from the American people.

Mitt Romney and the GOP establishment endorse Ted Cruz.

If a brokered convention comes to pass Rubio and Kasich delegated will go to Ted Cruz, the establishments "outsider"

Mitt Romney is not a gentleman in the mold of Ronald Reagan.

True, but it would officially end the GOP.

I don’t want Cruz on the SC yet. He needs to stay in the senate to keep at least some balance of power against any further destruction to the constitution.

Look when the returns started coming in for LA, I couldn’t believe them. I knew in my parish and several other I had been to Cruz had a lot of support. I went to the parish by parish map and saw that those parishes hadn’t been counted yet. My perceptions were right because when those parishes reported Trumps lead shrunk down to a believable number for me. I knew it was going to be close but I could only judge the areas I have traveled to in the state in the last month and I thought that Cruz could win. He has a lot of support in Louisiana. There is nothing fishy about the votes here.
