Cruz Making Plans To Drop Out of Race? (Roger Stone says Ted demands SCOTUS appointment from Rubio)
The Political Insider ^ | March1, 2016 | Bill Cunningham

Posted on 03/01/2016 1:16:32 PM PST by drewh

A long-time political insider just made a bombshell announcement about conservative Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), who is running for President.

This Republican operative, who has worked on 9 different presidential cycles, couldn’t keep it quiet any longer after being in talks with key leaders of Cruz’s and Senator Marco Rubio’s (R-FL) campaigns.

The insider is Roger Stone. He once worked for Donald Trump, and passed along his report to a popular radio host that Cruz used a high-priced attorney to confidentially request that Rubio’s team promise Cruz a Supreme Court appointment in exchange for Cruz exciting the race. This is in addition to recent reports that the candidates’ wives have been in contact, discussing why someone dropping out is essential.

This is unprecedented, but Cruz has to be well aware that the political establishment is lining up behind Rubio. Fox News has a pro-Rubio tilt, and the powerful Koch brothers just sent a number of their top operatives to Team Rubio in hopes of defeating Trump during a contentious convention fight.

Cruz has been a bold conservative voice in the United States Senate who has been willing to filibuster Obamacare and take on his own party. But while he’s a constitutional scholar with solid principles, it’s clear that after his team messed with Dr. Ben Carson, he is also willing to play dirty tricks.

However, those tricks haven’t changed Trump’s nearly insurmountable lead, and Cruz doesn’t want to face even more legal battles about his former dual-citizenship with Canada. Cruz, who is a former Supreme Court law clerk, may see a lifetime appointment to the Supreme Court as the perfect exit strategy!

As Roger Stone once noted about Cruz, he is the ultimate Nixonian politician:

Vladimir Lenin said, “There are no morals in politics; there is only expedience. A scoundrel may be of use to us just because he is a scoundrel.” I can’t think of a better description of Ted Cruz’s relationship with the DC-Wall Street Establishment – Cruz being the scoundrel of course. Cruz’s claim of not being a tool of the political elite is like Bill Clinton telling the world, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” […]

Despite his ability to lie with a straight face (sadly Nixonian) on his support for amnesty and TPP, he got nailed by Senator Marco Rubio on the debate. Acting like a prick in the U.S. Senate was the core of Ted’s disciplined effort to bury his old school ties and reinvent himself as a modern-day Jesse Helms and supposed Conservative outsider. It’s a ruse. It’s clear that something dramatic has to happen this week, with 12 primary elections happening on Super Tuesday. Without deals like this, nothing can stop the Trump Train.

What do you think about Ted Cruz allegedly offering to drop out of the race?

Cruz will be fine in his reelection bid.

Wishful thinking. In fact I have grave doubts that the Senate stays GOP, if they do it will be a miracle, if they can fade off a few Jumpin Jeffords types.

That is not a job I’m interested in.” Cruz said and added, “The job I’m interested in is appointing 3, 4, 5 Supreme Court justices,

Would anyone really expect any other answer? Only a loser would say he would accept a SC nomination now if he should lose Texas that answer would likely change.

This whisper campaign again?

They were trying to sell this last week (while people were early voting in the Super Tuesday primary).

Rubio is going to get smacked down like a disobedient gimp at a foam-party.

I can’t believe Cruz would tie his fate to rubio’s crumbling political future. This can’t be real...

Not only that, because this is above the Alaska results, someone had to mark it as "Breaking News" within the last 5-6 hours. Whoever did so did it knowing Cruz had no intention of dropping out, and did it 9-10 hours after the original blog-sourced story was posted and after Cruz won three states.

Any Trump supporter who tries to claim the Trump camp is "clean" is thus shown to be misinformed, and worse, FR has been infiltrated by someone intentionally spreading false stories to advantage his or her Trump team masters.

Why in the world is this Infowars-sourced nonsense from a degenerate hack like Roger Stone sitting at the top of the Breaking News sidebar days after it’s been debunked and dismissed?

when Cruz camp repeats CNN saying Carson is getting out...to Trump that’s a lie.

When Trump guy makes up crap about Cruz getting out—that’s not a lie.

Trump logic.

Hehehe. I was wondering how the Cruzers would react to the exact same psyop aimed at them. One of Cruz's lackeys burned Carson with the dirty trick and now one of Trump's lackeys shoves the exact same enema right up their bunghole.

How's it feel?

This article is rubbish. It tries to claim Ted is for amnesty when he’s the main guy that killed the gang of 8 bill.

I guess you missed the part where the Go8 passed the Senate and only died when Cantors career in the House did.

Yep he certainly did miss that Bratt event and the earthquake it caused down there. Or maybe he is actually swallowing those Cruz lies hook, line and sinker.

How is any opposing candidate supposed to be able to pin down the position of a guy who says that EVERYTHING is negotiable?

Second amendment? Negotiable.
Abortion? Negotiable.
Backroom deals in Congress? Negotiable.
Amnesty (the big thing he used to get people’s attention right away)? Negotiable
Iran continuing to get the bomb? Negotiable
Etc.

By using that simple word “negotiable” Trump wins the right to call everybody else a liar. And his supporters swallow it hook, line, and sinker, because as Trump himself said, he could murder somebody on the street and his supporters would still back him. Not exactly a ringing endorsement of the concept of accountability. Seems more to be a boast that he can do whatever he wants to, just like Obama and the DC “establishment” have been able to do when the leftist press had everybody brainwashed. At first I praised Trump for turning the PC garbage of the media upside-down, which needed to happen. But it seems now that people are just as stupid and ignorant as ever and that’s the way Trump likes it. It feels to me as if there was no problem with a lying press; the problem for Trump was that it wasn’t HIS lying press.

Because Trump could murder somebody in the street and you would still support him? Anything, to give the GOPe a kick in the balls. Even elect somebody who says everything is negotiable (the exact same mindset as the GOPe that so many Trump supporters say they want to punish).

"Negotiable"

Oh come on now. We all know what he means. He is putting forth his opening bid and is saying 'now tell me what you got'. It is Art of the Deal and is meant to contrast against doctrinaire firm positions proudly held by others. You are reading WAY too much into this. Especially the shooting people on 5th Avenue. You clearly have no ability to relate to normal everyday conversation if you take that literally. What do you do when you are with the guys watching football and everybody yells 'Kill that SOB'! Seriously. Ya'll gotta relax. If you are diagramming his every sentence and word then you are doing it wrong. Try to imagine for a second that you finally have a 'politician' who is unscripted, unhandled, and well, normal like us.

Anyway, I gotta say that you surprise me here butterdezillion. I remember you as bird dogging the Obama NBC scam and yet here you are presumably running interference for the Cubanadian. Correct? So how does that work?

I mean, with DingleBarry we had a violator of the Constitutional requirements, the first ever candidate with a foreign parent. Unprecedented. Now with Cruz we have all that plus being definitely born in a foreign country. That last component was what you were on about in Hawaii correct? Man, you gotta tell us the story of how you made this herculean leap to presumably supporting someone far less qualified under our Constitution.

That Roger Stone enema feels great? Yeah, okay.

Anyway, it's easy to 'outperform' when your sights are low. And of course he has no one to blame but himself.

How's it feel that your guy ( and the idiot Levin ) both went with the Mississippi strategy? I know Cruz is okay with it since he was right there with Mitch two years ago giving at least tacit approval to hang on to Thad's seat. I bet you didn't know that either. This was a shameful week for Cruz, and I am sorry I used to believe in him.
