Cruz: Rubio, Carson should drop out if they don't win a state
The Hill ^ | 3/1/2016 | Lisa Hagen

Ted Cruz on Tuesday suggested that GOP rivals Marco Rubio and Ben Carson should drop out of the presidential race if they don’t win a state on Super Tuesday.

The Texas senator, who's positioning himself to be the alternative to Donald Trump, called on his opponents to unite behind one candidate to take on the GOP front-runner. Both the Florida senator and retired neurosurgeon have yet to win a state.

“If tomorrow morning, a candidate is sitting there and he’s won zero states and doesn’t have a credible shot at getting the delegates, then I do think it’s worth a candidate thinking about coming together and uniting behind,” Cruz said in a Tuesday interview on "The Mike Gallagher Show."

"I do think what today will do is help narrow the field. We need to get to a one-on-one battle with Donald Trump," Cruz continued.

The Texas senator said he expects to fare well in his home state, where some recent polls show him leading Trump by double digits. Cruz pointed to polls showing Rubio losing to the GOP front-runner in his home state of Florida.

“There is no doubt, if you can’t win your home state, it is a big, big, big problem,” Cruz said. "The polling shows Marco losing his home state of Florida by 20 points; he’s getting clobbered at home."

"He is a very talented individual, but Marco doesn’t have any viable path to beat Donald Trump," Cruz added. "In the first four states, he’s gone 0 for 4. In all likelihood, he will lose every single Super Tuesday state."

The interview comes as 11 states hold primary contests. Trump is poised to sweep many of those Super Tuesday states and extend his massive delegate lead.

That’s going to bite Cruz big time if he manages to lose Texas.

Sorry but, I'm getting tired of Cruz.

You don't want your Trump to go head to head if you know what's good for him.

What is Cruz's problem? Does he seriously think more than a miniscule number of those who support others will go to Cruz? After tag-teaming with Rubio, now he's telling him to drop out? Dr. Carson should drop out; how does that help Cruz? Would even one Carson supporter go to Cruz?

I'm beginning to think Cruz has issues far beyond lying and running a really nasty campaign.

What will Cruz be saying if he doesn’t carry Texas?" "Support romney".

It has become apparent that the GOPe thinks romney is the latest Trump killer.

“WTF Cruz can’t win another State”

May or may not be true but what does that have to do with either of the two comments?

“NO. I’m just getting tired of Cruz and his arrogance. He’s a phony.”

“More projecting from a Trumpeteer.”

Last time I checked, anybody can run for President as long as they want.
Getting out of the race because the establishment wants to cheat it for Cruz? Yeah, no.
