Republicans May ‘Look at Alternatives’ if a ‘Disaster’ Candidate Like Trump Becomes Nomin
Breitbart ^ | February 29,2016 | by JORDAN SCHACHTEL

John Sununu, the former New Hampshire senator and John Kasich supporter, urged Republican voters to “choose the strongest nominee they can — someone who will win.” But he thinks Republicans may “look at alternatives” if “we have a nominee who is a disaster for the party.”

On Breitbart News Daily, Stephen K. Bannon asked Sununu what he thought about the potential for a third party candidate should Trump become the nominee. Sununu cautioned that if Hillary Clinton is not defeated, she would continue Obama’s agenda, and would be able to appoint a Supreme Court nominee.

“That is one of the reasons why people need to look at John Kasich because he will win. He’ll win Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire,” Sununu added, claiming that top contenders Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97% and real estate developer Donald Trump have “no chance” to win those states against Hillary Clinton.

“Whoever the nominee is, I think and I hope that Republicans support them, but what you’re talking about is a hypothetical where what happens if we have a Donald Trump who is running 10, 15 points behind HIllary Clinton,” Sununu said. “There’s been a lot of polling showing Trump is the weakest Republican we could put up.

“What Republicans will do, if we have a nominee who is a disaster for the party, a nominee who is trailing badly, are they going to look at alternatives? I can’t tell you,” he added.

“I want a Republican who is strong, who will generate broad support across the spectrum,” Sununu said of Ohio Governor John Kasich, who he is supporting.

Breitbart News Daily airs weekdays from 6 am to 9 am EST on SiriusXM Patriot 125.

We might start looking for a mustachioed corporal to start getting popular any day now.

Actually I was a Walker fan first. Now Cruz.

Jeb and Trump and Christie have always been on my never list. Trump and Hillary on the never list in the general.

I am one of millions. I will never vote for a liar, pro abortion shill, pro PP hack, scammer as in Trump U, and all around liar about his views on immigration. He doesn’t mean that stuff for one second. Its the way he saw to the nomination.

Ever read Art of the Deal? It’s how trump plans to win. He has no plans to close the borders. Ever!

I can’t understand the establishment they say Trump can’t win and yet they would vote for Hillary if Trump is nominated. They hate Cruz even more. Our nominees have been awful since Reagan.

It’s looking like something demonically baleful has seized hold of the entire GOP primary process.

Donald Trump didn’t start out being as vitriolic as he is now. His intemperate mud slinging contest with Ted Cruz has lowered both participants, and Rubio has a shady past.

Sometimes things DO happen to nations that funnel them into a fate that looks like the Nazis. A power hungry attitude seems to be the precedent that swept in the Himmler. As Donald gets cruder and cruder, any heroic element he might have had is getting subverted to Satan, and the hellishness isn’t restricted to just him, but to his campaign rivals, all falling into the same sulphurous gutter.

It seems to me that Donald is the heavyweight in this picture. If somehow his campaign tone changed, so would that of the other GOP front runners.

Well here’s where HiTech RedNeck has done something crazy. I’ve submitted a song to the Trump campaign headquarters, titled “Rednecks Built America.” It has a wholesome theme, concentrating on pride in accomplishment, heroes, racial harmony (”Rednecks come in many colors”) and the love of God. I’m thinking about what might happen if they (and he) cotton to this song. They would start to take a more positive attitude.

Or again they might not care, or they might be too far gone for it to do any good, or any number of “mights.” But again I am looking to Jesus, the Name Above All Names. He could turn this battle around.

Please pray that it would do some good, or at least would fail to do any harm....

Thank you
“Redneck”

The establishment went to the well one too many times with the voters. This is all on them now.

They’re shrieking like liberals now because they are liberals. The ones that don’t like paying taxes.

History does repeat itself.

The republican elites were in a similar fit of pique 40 years ago when Ronald Reagan won the republican nomination for the 1980 presidential election.

Reagan went on to win the election in a landslide, receiving the most electoral votes that a non-incumbent presidential candidate had ever won.

But the republican elites still didn’t like him.

Basically their position was that he was a Washington outsider, not suave enough, and that he shot from the hip.

They nearly went into convulsions when he called the Soviet Union ‘The Evil Empire’.

Sound familiar?

OK you stay at home and if Clinton wins you can sit there and be happy you did nothing to stop her, but never moan about the state of country as you did nothing but stayed in that night.

Yeah, because a third party run is always helpful.

Get over it, GOP-e... If Trump’s the nominee, suck it up and help pull him over the finish line, because the alternative is Her Infernal Malevolence in the White House. And THAT crap sandwich would be far worse.

I once read Sununu had an IQ of 170.

I think there was a typo and they added a "1" in front of the real number.

Ha, ha, like we are supposed to listen to John Sununu?

For those that don't remember he actively walked the Republican Party back from Reagan's path, engineered Pres Bush's going back on his "No more taxes" pledge and gave us Supreme Court Justice Souter.

If Sununu says yes, then I say no.
