CNN anchor Jake Tapper repeatedly asked Donald Trump on Sunday to denounce David Duke's support for his candidacy, but Trump insisted he didn't know anything about about the former KKK grand wizard.
"Will you unequivocally condemn David Duke and say that you don't want his vote and that of other white supremacists in this election?" Tapper asked Trump on "State of the Union."
But Trump, the Republican presidential frontrunner, said he didn't have enough information to answer the question:
I don't know anything about David Duke, OK? I don't know anything about what you're even talking about with white supremacy or white supremacists. So I don't know. I mean, I don't know did he endorse me or what's going on? Because I know nothing about David Duke. I know nothing about white supremacists. And so you're asking me a question that I'm supposed to be talking about people that I know nothing about.
BuzzFeed reported last week that Duke, a prominent white nationalist, urged his supporters to back Trump. Duke was quoted saying on his radio show that "voting against Donald Trump at this point is really treason to your heritage."
On his Sunday show, Tapper continued to press Trump on the subject.
"Even if you don't know about their endorsement, there are these groups and individuals endorsing you. Would you just say unequivocally that you condemn them and you don't want their support?" he asked Trump.
But Trump again insisted again he didn't know about Duke:
I have to look at the group. I mean, I don't know what group you're talking about. You wouldn't want me to condemn a group that I know nothing about. I have to look. If you would send me a list of the groups, I will do research on them.

3 strikes and YOU’RE FIRED, trapper.
Trump is an idiot.
I thought commie libs were tolerant and non-judgmental. Who is Tapper to “condemn” anybody? He works for the state controlled “media” for pete’s sake.
what about Al Mafia turncoat Sharpton??!!
tawana, the Koreans, cocaine, the mafia, then he squealed on them.
forget about it
and Duke should know all he can do is hurt a candidate.
Good for Trump! I know I wouldn’t condemn or disavow anyone supporting me for elected office if I didn’t know anything about them & perhaps even if I did. David Duke, a low life IMO, has the right to support whoever he wants to support for President.
Reads like a MSM fail to me.
Trump in 2000:
Mr. Trump painted a fairly dark picture of the Reform Party in his statement, noting the role of Mr. Buchanan, along with the roles of David Duke, a former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, and Lenora Fulani, the former standard-bearer of the New Alliance Party and an advocate of Marxist-Leninist politics.
“The Reform Party now includes a Klansman, Mr. Duke, a neo-Nazi, Mr. Buchanan, and a communist, Ms. Fulani,” he said in his statement. “This is not company I wish to keep.”
I do like that Trump assumes any media question is a gotcha question and avoids it. Too many politicians seem to think the media, this time, is asking an honest question and foolishly offers a candid answer.
He’s being asked if he repudiates this particular one. An easy “Yes” would have sufficed.
Apparently he doesn’t even know who the KKK is ... “Amazing” ( to use the word Trump likes to use a lot ).
It’s interesting how the republicans are supposed to condemn and disavow any sort of radical affiliation or association of any kind, no matter how indirect or distant. Yet, the democrats NEVER disavow any radicals of any kind that gravitate towards them, and aren’t expected to by the media. The dems have had former Black Panthers and former Weather Underground, and SDS members run for, and hold office without so much as a raised eyebrow.
did tapper ask about farrakhan? black panthers etc
Have you listened to cub scout Rubio and Cruz this weekend. What a couple of mud throwers. Cruz was my second choice but he has lost a lot of stature with me because of his lying.
I think the proper answer is: I want to make America great again. This should benefit all people of all colors, all religions, all other groups.
Trump already did denounce Duke in 2000, maybe he didn’t feel the need to repeat himself and say it again. lol
” Trump is a good businessman. He doesn’t want to throw away the KKK vote.
Trump/Duke 2016! “
You got one thread pulled today, now you are just looking for JimRob to permanently kick you off of this site.
I already heard Trump immediately disavow this endorsement when he was told it involved the KKK.
Yes Trump should disavow this one but will Hillary disavow racist, cop killing BLM?
The exact opposite, she is pandering to them every day.
RE: I think the proper answer is: I want to make America great again.
Sure, anybody can use that slogan. Even Bernie Sanders can.
