Cruz will Endorse Rubio over Trump (Vanity)

That was THE bombshell of the night. Post debate interview Cruz said he'd endorse Rubio (open borders, Scamnesty, establishment boy toy) over Trump.

Obviously a deal what cut (promotion at Goldman Sachs for Cruz's wife likely included) where Rubio and Cruz got together pre-debate to bash Trump. They'll endorse each other if they lose their home states.

peace to you FRiend. i respect and accept your decision as a fellow citizen. i sense you’ll make the most honest and responsible one you can make for you and yours, as i will for mine.

as for mine, first, i would just note, fear plays no part in any decision i make. i truly fear only the Lord at this point in my life. for example, i don’t fear having obama, hillary, or trump for that matter as president (maybe bernie just a little...just kidding :)). if it’s God’s will then forget about mine.

and 2nd. every responsible person has to make their own life decisions and then live with them. it’s the “live with them” part that i emphasize before i make a tough one like this. could i live with a decision to vote for rubio, a man i consider an open-borders traitor, and personal knowledge of him as a hypocrite and a two-face liar for personal gain) as president? could God be using a man like rubio? no, after reflection and mediation, i don’t think so. i can as a Christian have no relationship with rubio, except to love him and hope he repents as a fellow sinner.

If we care at all, Trump (or someone) has to have it locked up going in.

If the GOPe wrestles this away from the winner, they’ll get about 5% of the vote in November. It will be the end of the GOP.

No, not true, the ethics violation is in the mail. I saw a copy of it, a big yellow official notice, and Donald Trump got an F. And, Donald's business associates also got an F.

I think though this is Cruz’s game here. He and Rubio made a deal: Whichever one of us loses our home state will drop out and endorse the other.

Trump/Cruz are a coin flip now in Texas and Cruz is putting all his eggs in the Texas basket.

But Trump is trouncing Rubio in Florida.

So it’s another, “I said that but never meant that” Cruz moment.

At least, that’s the most political and positive way to look at it.

They might have promised each other the VP slot.

I get where you are coming from. I don’t want you to misunderstand what I mean by fear. There is a fear that is an enemy to faith. I’m not talking about that. I trust God for all the outcomes. I am not afraid of what God will do, because He will always do what is right.

But fear as a response to a threat is a rational behavior. Fear is what keeps a person from staying on the tracks when a train is coming. In this sense it is a reasonable apprehension of unpleasant consequences, and can motivate us to avoid the danger, which is a good thing.

I do not have any personal knowledge of Rubio, as you do. To me he is little more than a collection of policy positions attached to a face. There is reputation too, and based on what I know about him, I don’t trust him and I don’t like him, and I would avoid him if I could. But if a gun was put to my head and I was told I had to pick between him and Trump, I would pick Rubio, because I trust Trump even less. It’s just the way it is.

BTW, I am curious about your personal knowledge of Rubio. Can you share the circumstances? I’m genuinely curious.

I was watching the post debate interviews of Trump and then Cruz. After that I switched over to the Rockets game, come back here and see this thread. I thought Cruz had said something else or some other news came out. Nope just the same interview I had watched. A lot of hyperventilating over nothing if you ask me.

I actually thought Trump’s assertion that he might be audited every year because he’s a strong Christian and incredulous response to Vicente Fox’s cursing were more news worthy.

yes, sadly, the inference can be made. cruz said rubio or himself would make a better president than trump. so, he could support rubio over trump. thus, he’s tying himself by inference to the gope. if he marries rubio, he’s in bed with the gope. he didn’t even have to say that.

I'm wondering what the new strategy will be next Wednesday? People like Redstate have absolutely destroyed any credibility they have, and have gotten Cruz to listen to their advice on what needs to happen to "defeat Trump".
