Breaking— CRUZ CAMPAIGN STAFFER SAYS CAMPAIGN IS DONE —
A Ted Cruz campaign staffer today told CNN the campaign is done. “His Campaign is done.”
“The Cruz campaign has to focus on getting basic campaign techniques right,” said a Republican operative who works for the presidential campaign, who asked not to be identified. “I don’t think Cruz can win the nomination at this point. I think his campaign is done.”
Cruz took a huge blow on Saturday after he could not win a single county in South Carolina, a state with an enormous evangelical vote.

Trump won among republicans with 32%. This made up 76% of the primary vote. In a closed primary he would have won.The CNN exit poll says Republicans voted Trump/Cruz/Rubio 32/24/23.

Cruz stuck out a little jab with his left hand and Trump started throwing haymakers, uppercuts, and combos back. Not exactly true...Cruz started it...Trump responded...Cruz came back strong...The Hulk Hogan in Trump then came out...Cruz doesn't know enough to lay down when the Trumpster is riled...

Dem SC primary was not conducted on the same day.

Exactly.
Independent voters are what got Rubio his 2nd place slot. Had no effect on 1st.

He also won among people for whom the Supreme Court, national security and âshares my valuesâ are uppermost to them. Not according to the exit polls. Here are the exit polls I have seen Do you have another exit poll source?

Dem SC primary was not conducted on the same day.
True, but once you vote in one of the primaries, you are legally ineligible to vote in the other.
link:
VOTER REGISTRATION
Registration Deadline: You must be registered at least 30 days prior to any election in order to vote in that election. Registration by mail applications must be postmarked at least 30 days prior to that particular election to be eligible.
Party Affiliation: South Carolina does not have registration by party. Voters may vote in either party's primary, but not both.

Cruz cannot run a campaign, wants to run America? Not ready to lead.

I support both Cruz and Trump, itâs been obvious now for a while that you canât do that here without being percieved as attacking or promoting, rather than just observing with no motive.I was doing similarly, LVR. I noticed the same thing, thus I remained silent, at least on the primary threads.
Sad.
Indeed it is...

“Not so. Cruz won 17-29 year olds decisively in S. Carolina. He also won among people for whom the Supreme Court, national security and âshares my values’ are uppermost to them.”
Well good. Seeing how Ted’s appeal is much wider than I stated, I expect to see him begin dominating the race.

But SC folks have posted that you can’t (legally) vote in both.

I get that. I’m just saying, on the Republican primary day, they had no conflict keeping them from going Republican, especially as the Dem primary hadn’t happened yet.

There truly may be some big block of crossover dems. But I think you'd find most Trump supporters would admit that they believe Trump is going to go out in November and take over blocks of voters that nobody in the GOP thought possible in this political generation. I am a Cruz supporter, and I admit that too. If Trump wins the primary, he will win the General in a blowout.

I am a Trump supporter. Yet somehow we managed to carry on a perfectly rational and respectful series of posts with one another. Who'd a thunk it? lol.

The number of post by Trump fans on a vague post by unknown sources doesn’t impress me.

“It isn’t Cruz’s appeal that I expect would win him the election. It’s the fact that Hillary is such a horrible witch”
Without broad demographic appeal, no Republican nominee can overcome the Democrat’s built-in electoral advantage. Ted simply doesn’t have it, and would lose to even Hillary The Wicked Witch.
Among other reasons, it’s why Romney lost to the worst president in U.S. history.

Right on! That's why I believe that pretty much every GOP candidate can beat her except for Bush (as the last names would level the playing field). I've said repeatedly i'd vote for Hillary over Bush. Bush was the only candidate who could not possibly have beaten Hillary.
Bush was a loon for even thinking of running.
Hillary is toast, and it doesn't matter which Candidate we run against her. (Except for Bush, of course.)
