Orrin Hatch endorses Marco Rubio
Washington Examiner ^ | 2/22/16 3:49 PM | Ryan Lovelace

Posted on 02/22/2016 2:44:52 PM PST by pilgrim

Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch endorsed Florida Sen. Marco Rubio for president, the senator's staff confirmed to the Washington Examiner.

Hatch is one of the highest ranking Republicans in Congress, and he is third in the line of the succession to the U.S. presidency as president pro tempore of the United States Senate.

The six-term senator had previously endorsed Jeb Bush and sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2000. Hatch's endorsement could be interpreted as a sign of the party's governing class rallying to Rubio.

Just to clear for everyone....

I live not too far from Rubio's event that's being televised right now. There's maybe 25 people there. There's a reason they won't show you the crowd!

He's standing in a small park in front of a gazebo.

Too funny they won't show very much!

Well, that settles it. The only better endorsement would’ve come from Arlen Spector but he jumped ship and then died. Of course, coming out as a RAT at the end of his days, he will still probably vote - for Rubio or . . . ?

In this election cycle numbers show that ANY establishment politicians endorsements will have a slim to none affect.

The electorate is showing it’s disdain for establishment insiders and overwhelmingly choosing outsiders on both sides. I would view any endorsement by these career cronies to be a huge negative.

“The six-term senator had previously endorsed Jeb Bush”

I knew this, but if I hadn’t, then I wouldn’t have needed to read any further.

I’d puke after reading this stuff, but I’ve done it so many times recently that there’s nothing left. Time to get rid of these people. PRIMARY THEM, PEOPLE!!!!!

If Hatch likes Rubio that is reason enough for me NOT to vote Rubio.

Marco Rubio, though born in the U.S., was the child of 2 non-citizens (who later became citizens). IOW, he was an anchor baby, and he is ineligible to be President.

I don’t personally want him in there because of the monumental hummer that he gave to the Cheap Labor Express by joining the Gang of 8. It shows how craven he is, to so betray his claim of being a Tea Party candidate, and to then join Chuck Schumer to undermine American workers AND the Republican Party. But even if I didn’t dislike him for that (and he seems pretty damned good on just about everything else), he’d STILL be ineligible. The case here is stronger than the one against Cruz.

Urrine will be 82 next month and he’s been in the Senate 39 years! Longer than anyone I believe.

It is a wonder of nature that Orrin Hatch can stand up without a spine.

I’ve heard Mark speak highly of Rubio, on his show.

Here are a couple of articles where he seems to like Rubio...

Levin: Rubio Is ‘Very Engaging,’ ‘Going to Challenge the Republican Establishment’
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/04/13/levin-rubio-is-very-engaging-going-to-challenge-the-republican-establishment/

Levin: Cruz, Paul, Rubio Among Best Young Conservatives Since Reagan
http://www.breitbart.com/video/2015/04/15/levin-cruz-paul-rubio-among-best-young-conservatives-since-reagan/

Is he (Levin) against Rubio, now..now that he seems to be endorsing CRuz and since Rubio dissed Mark’s CR forum? Not sure.

Your sources are almost year old. Levin's against Rubio because Rubio is a proven liar, and is projecting his dishonesty onto a good man.

Levin is a straight shooter.

The debate is on-going, occasionally it rises to a Deafening level of a whispered ...Who Cares... with the other side almost as exercised replying ...Die Already....

We ought to flood Rubio’s email with warnings that the utterly useless Orrin Grant Hatch endorsement can only hurt him. It might give him second thoughts.

People in UT idolize Orrin Grant Hatch, who was born in PA. We used to say, “don’t count your hatch until he chickens out.” But it does not impact a UT voter. Like their AZ compatriots with McPain, they love inflicting Hatch on the rest of the nation.
