Things sure look good for Donald Trump.
The Republican presidential race expanded across the country Sunday, and polls show the real estate mogul ahead in eight of the dozen states voting in the next nine days.
Trump has now won primaries in two very different states, center-right New Hampshire and evangelical-dominated South Carolina. And the Republican Party system of choosing a presidential nominee favors candidates who continue to win early primaries and caucuses.
“He seems to have about a third of the Republican electorate under his spell, and it’s a durable, non-ideological coalition,†said Kyle Kondik, managing editor at Larry Sabato’s Crystal Ball Sunday.
The biggest hope for stopping Trump is for a single strong challenger to emerge, and so far that hasn’t happened.
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., finished second Saturday in South Carolina, but he was 10 percentage points behind Trump and barely edged Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, even though Rubio barnstormed the state with popular Gov. Nikki Haley and Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C.
Rubio also lacks an obvious state where he can win in the next few weeks. He should be a favorite in Tuesday’s Nevada caucus. Rubio lived in Las Vegas as a child, was a church member, and Sunday picked up the endorsement of Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nevada. But a CNN/ORC poll last week showed Trump with a huge lead, with more support than Rubio and Cruz combined.

McConnell and Ryan are just the sort of malleable toadies who will fall right in line under a President with a strong hand - be it good or evil.
Very true, they are a weak lot. However, the saving grace is: "following a course much closer to the ideals their party espouses."
Trump will take over what ideals the party espouses. Sure they'll follow that, but maybe it is good that followers follow. Now, will Trump make good decisions? We shall see.

Two years from now I sincerely believe that all of us will cheering President Trump on. Some loudly, some quietly, but we all will be behind him, because he's going to deliver what he's selling.
I hope you're right, but I'm pretty sure you'll be wrong. I think all those who support Trump at this time will be wondering how the hell they fell for his act when all the markers and evidence and history was right in front of them the whole time.

We all know that Trump isn’t a movement conservative, so we can almost guarantee that he’s going to do or say some things that rankle us from time to time.
I’m steeling myself for that, but what’s most important to me (and the country), is that he gets it right on the big things like illegal immigration, trade, taxes, and trimming the waste, corruption, and overspending in Washington.
We can probably suffer the lesser departures if he corrects the structural issues.
Any other pejoratives you can come up with to describe individuals who may be supportive of Trump? You seem to have quite a roster there.

A lot of thinking ios clouded by sheer unbridled anger and they view Trump as their “Tool of Vengeance”, I just hope that if Trump does become president that he fulfills his promises about illegal immigration and several of his other hot points, because if he doesn’t the backlash on THAT would be even worse than what we see today and could lead to OPEN revolution.
I’ve been reading daily at FR for over a decade, but only noticed Isara during this primary. And BOY, did he make himself noticed. Some days it seemed like every third article was posted by him.
Funny that he went dark at the end of January. Seems he would have stayed on the job at least until Super Tuesday.
Trump is winning open primaries. he’s being pushed on us by democRATS crossing over and voting for him because they know he’ll be easy to beat in the general election. they did this in 2008 with McCain and helped him clear the field before Super Tuesday. i suspect they did this with Romney as well. these people will NOT vote for him in the general election. they are monkeying around with the GOP nomination for their own benefit.
open primaries are a stain on our democracy. they need to be stopped. any citizen of a state can walk in off the street and vote in a GOP open primary state no matter what party they belong to. that’s insane.

My advice to you, then, is to lie back and think of the Constitution... ;-)
Examples of perjoratives would be words like trumprangers, or trumpoodles, or dontards, or trumpussies, or trumpocrats, or trumpanzees, or trumpholes.
There is no inherent insult in trumpians or trumpadoos.

As I recall when Senator John McCain ran as the GOP presidential candidate in 2008 it was not a secret he cheated on his first wife. Yet many Christian conservatives criticize Republicans who would not vote for McCain.
