In August of 2015, against considerable backlash, we stood firm on a fundamental position that Senator Ted Cruz did not have a pathway, a roadmap, to victory in the 2016 GOP presidential primary.
Despite the fundamentally sound reasoning for our prediction, which was entirely based on congressional district by district analytics, our position drew an immense amount of criticism and even a quick response from the Cruz campaign itself (Brian Phillips).
Unfortunately, tonight’s South Carolina results vindicate a massive amount of historical research. There simply is no pathway to victory when you rely almost exclusively on “proselytizing as an electoral strategy“:

It’s not personal, it is simply a factual reality. The Ted Cruz Road Map is non-existent; and beyond the SEC primary states there is little to no organization at all. Nothing in the state of Florida. The campaign is NOT what most people have been led to believe it is.
We strongly urge people to do their own research and to connect their own dots. The campaign will NOT stop sending you donation requests, that much is certain.
Word of the 2016 campaign cycle!
Just curious, how close were the RCP averages to the final outcome?
Glenn started fasting too late to save ted!
“The MAJOR ISSUE is Cruz is ineligible and so is Rubio.”
Trump tweeted that info out to 7,000,000 followers this morning.
Reagan has a sense of humor, and was a very humble man. The exact opposite of Cruz.
Yes they are nothing alike. There will never be another Ronaldus Magnus.
People on Free Republic hate hearing this but its true.
Good. I’m glad he did. It is time people are informed of what the Constitution says. Unfortunately the dumbing down of America has been going on for a long time and education is in the pits. Trump has said in his administration it will be Back to the constitution and obeying the law of the land. The History of the United States needs to be taught again without REVISION, and CIVICS classes should be necessary for graduation.
I suspect the game plan at this point is to continue to raise funds, which will be used for his senate re-election campaign ala mccain.
He’ll need the money.
I think you nailed it.
I think Beck harmed Cruz more than anything else. What a nutcase.
They’ve got nowhere to run now, I guess we’ll have to put up with their opuses. LOL
Ignore them. Treat children like children.
I really like the guy and I think he would be an outstanding president.
But facts are facts. He campaigns like he’s holding a seminar after church. I expected more energy, more passion, and more willingness to take on the libs head on.
Wish it were different, but between Trump and Rubio, Trump is an easy choice.
Yes. I have received no thanx for pointing it out. LOL!
I see Rubio and Trump splitting the Cruz vote once Cruz drops out. Trump wins easily in that scenario.
Amen to that!!!
But, as you know, going back to grade school, the big mouths get real scared & quiet when cornered. I remember a couple of them crying.
It’s really too bad the Cruzbots went utterly insane on here; they brought the sh*tstorm on themselves, 100%.
Personally, there’s a few FReepers I’ve been chatting with for years that I’ll never correspond with again due to their TDS.
“Heâs done. Itâs a question of how long he delays the inevitable. And based on his showing in this primary heâd better get back to the Senate and do a really good job or heâll get primaried there too.”
NOOOOOOOO! We want Teddy to stick it out to he bitter end!
Teddy is just one of those rare people who becomes more unlikeable the more you’re around him and the more you see of him. Let him spend his campaign funds on this quixotic quest.
