Draft-dodger Donald Trump once said that the danger he faced from getting sexually transmitted diseases was his own “personal Vietnam.†In a 1997 interview with shock jock Howard Stern, Trump talked about how he had been “lucky†not to have contracted diseases when he was sleeping around. “I’ve been so lucky in terms of that whole world. It is a dangerous world out there. It’s scary, like Vietnam. Sort of like the Vietnam-era,†Trump said in a video that resurfaced Tuesday on Buzzfeed, “It is my personal Vietnam. I feel like a great and very brave soldier.â€
Are you saying that Trump hasn’t been sexually promiscuous? Or are you saying that sexual sin and the exploitation of women isn’t something to be concerned about?
This is really rich coming from The Daily Beast who for years defended Bill Clinton for dodging the draft for deferment - can’t make this BS up

Agreed completely.
But still, I think a man’s character is usually set by the time he’s in his thirties.
Therefore, the reality of Trump’s blatant and braggadocious immorality “back in the day” probably goes a long way toward explaining his current narcissism, bullying and sociopathic disregard for truth.
I’m speaking of 1967 to 1969 after he had become a legal resident with a green card. He would have been eligible for the draft at the height of the Vietnam War
and then he went to Canada in 1969.
And he returned to the US when Vietnam was over in 1975.

Why does he need the public’s forgiveness? What he does in his personal life is his business, not yours! What sin or malfeasance has he caused to you to warrant a apology???
It’s a lie to say that Cruz lies. I realize that Trump has issued the talking point about “lies,” but there just is no evidence that Cruz has lied about anything. Just allegations and misrepresentations.
Saying “Ted lies” over and over again does not make it true.

Trump supporters don’t bother. Your candidate is already a laughing stock because of his own lying and bizarre campaign choices (such as cheating on Iowa, and Glen Beck).

Trump dodged the draft when there was a draft. Since neither Rubio not Cruz faced a draft, their decision to serve or not serve was entirely voluntary. As someone who grew up in the same era, and did volunteer to serve, I do not fault those who did not.
Trump, on the other hand, faced the draft, but dodged it. Trump’s decision to serve was not his to make; he was called to serve, and he exploited the system (probably using some of that purchased influence he’s so proud of) to escape his obligation. That is unconscionable - and for him to then compare his dodging of VD, or his time in an expensive prep school to military service is offensive and insulting to those of us who did serve.
You keep on hating him then. Question? Will you vote for him if he gets the nomination?
Spare us the revisionism. At the time, defending Vietnam from communist overthrow made perfect sense. For those who actually understand the Cold War, it still does.
Wow...sleazy on two fronts. Highlighting his promiscuous life, and belittling those who served with honor in Vietnam. OMG, comparing having sex and fighting in Vietnam is beyond disgusting.

All three of my college apartment-mates were ROTC, one was Air Force, one was Navy-Marine option, and the other was Navy. Only the Air Force guy had an active-duty military career.
About that substance you’re missing.....
You got some substance in comment #42, and it is much fresher material than the 20 year old bird cage liner material that the Trump opponents are left to fish out of the attic.

The cultural rot emanating from Hollywood and the Manhattan media complex is, in my opinion, the most serious problem facing our nation.
Moreover, there is no greater manifestation of this cultural rot than the phenomenon of “reality” TV.
Therefore, perhaps it is altogether fit and proper that a “reality” TV star should be the personality who seems finally to signal our irreversible slide into national decay and oblivion.
Win or lose the GOP nod, Trump is paving the way for a 40-state Dhimmi presidential win — whether the ultimate victor be Hilary, Bernie, Liz or Uncle Joe Biden.
That hard, cold fact means the Supreme Court is lost for the next 40 years, and the once great USA thereby becomes only a distant dream.
May God have mercy on us.
