At a town hall today in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Donald Trump floated the idea -- without explicitly threatening to do so -- that he may run as an independent candidate.
Trump attacked the Republican National Committee, saying it "better get its act together" and it "does a terrible job." Trump said he believes the RNC treated him unfairly.
Trump also went off on the crowd that booed him during Saturday night's GOP debate in South Carolina: "Look at it, that was a wealthy room."
"The whole room was made of special interests and donors, which is a disgrace from the RNC," Trump said. "The RNC better get its act together because, you know, I signed a pledge. The pledge isn’t being honored by the RNC."
Trump signed an RNC pledge in September, agreeing not to run a third-party candidacy and to support the eventual Republican nominee.
"I signed a pledge, but it’s a double-edged pledge. As far as I’m concerned, they’re in default on their pledge," Trump said of the RNC.
Trump also spent several minutes hitting Sen. Ted Cruz on dirty campaign tactics, calling him the most dishonest guy in politics he’s ever met.
He’s criticized Cruz “holding up the Bible,” and says he’s beating Cruz when it comes to evangelical voters.

To me the stacking of the debate audience to deliberately throw Trump off his game was beyond abhorrent, EVERYONE knew Trump would be taking incoming from ALL candidates and that is JUST FINE, however to throw a JEB!!! Cheer leading squad into the audience is just going to make Trumps support go stronger!!! WE are ALL fighting the know it all elites and this just proves to ALL of us what SOB’s the GOP-e REALLY are!!!! Trump’s support comes from ALOT of folks who have NEVER voted before because of CRAP like this!!! MANY, MANY, truck drivers, small business people, tanning salon owners, coal miners....... Give me a break folks GOP-e is hanging themselves!!!!!
The hatred for GOP grow daily. They are looking like dishonest, lying cheaters to more and more people.
There are days when I do wish Trump would run 3rd party and take a lot of Rep and Dem votes. It think he could easily win.

Actually it is a pretty good move he gets double duty out of the issue.
I want him as my VP so we need to get the NBC issue settled once and for all so we can remove this issue from the democrats. Curry favor with the Conservatives and at the same time damage Cruz's chances in the primaries by pointing out to the voter that Cruz is not a real American.
You may not like it but as a political move it is pretty clever. Whether it pays off or not is what we will have to wait to see.
Trump was my last pick before he was my first pick. Cruz was my first pick before he was my second pick.
I began to have serious doubts about the whole operation when GW allowed trucks to flow to Syria for several months.

Take off your Pollyanna trump glasses he specifically said the pledge is a double edged sword... there is no other way to interpret that unless you are a Clinton. Stop defending the indefensible, if he can’t man up and play nice and unite the party than the only WALL he will be building is the one that splits the Republican party and he will never be President nor will any Republican then it won’t matter one bit if Hillary or Bernie shoots someone in the middle of times square they will be President....

Emotionalism is no way to figure who would be the best next president. I suggest you cool down a bit and just read and listen to what the candidates say and write. Just a thought - blood pressure, and all that.

Fine, address inaccuracies by other campaigns, but constant harping about the boogeyman of the week “not being nice to him” is petty sh*t and you as well as I know it is.
