Donald Trump Floats Idea of a Third-Party Run Again
ABC News ^ | Feb 15, 2016 | BRAD MIELKE

At a town hall today in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Donald Trump floated the idea -- without explicitly threatening to do so -- that he may run as an independent candidate.

Trump attacked the Republican National Committee, saying it "better get its act together" and it "does a terrible job." Trump said he believes the RNC treated him unfairly.

Trump also went off on the crowd that booed him during Saturday night's GOP debate in South Carolina: "Look at it, that was a wealthy room."

"The whole room was made of special interests and donors, which is a disgrace from the RNC," Trump said. "The RNC better get its act together because, you know, I signed a pledge. The pledge isn’t being honored by the RNC."

Trump signed an RNC pledge in September, agreeing not to run a third-party candidacy and to support the eventual Republican nominee.

"I signed a pledge, but it’s a double-edged pledge. As far as I’m concerned, they’re in default on their pledge," Trump said of the RNC.

Trump also spent several minutes hitting Sen. Ted Cruz on dirty campaign tactics, calling him the most dishonest guy in politics he’s ever met.

He’s criticized Cruz “holding up the Bible,” and says he’s beating Cruz when it comes to evangelical voters.

No, that’s an old story from the late 90’s that’s been unearthed for the umpteenth time. Didn’t work earlier, won’t work now.

Such a misleading headline.

You are correct. The reporter even admits that the headline is misleading.

My first posts on Free Republic were against the invasion of Iraq. I was bashed mercilessly here over and over for trying to make a simple point.

Husain was secular, the 9-11 attacks were religious. We had just embarked on a war in Afghanistan and history advised caution in the regard. My thoughts were that Husain was currently in check and the options in that region are tinpot dictators or religious fanatics. I was stating the case for holding off on Iraq.

I got flamed by everyone. EVERYONE!!!

I remember those days. I may (or may not) have attacked you/anyone personally.

But I will say that I bought the whole Bush plan Hook-Line-and-Sinker.

I was a true believer, and I think this is the root of my sense of betrayal and anger at the whole establishment. All it has done since then is grow, grow, grow.

I honestly don't know if I owe you an apology for those bygone days, but if I do, I am sorry.

“No, stupid - it’s all about America. We need to know whether or not Cruz is eligible. America already elected someone who we aren’t sure was eligible. We, as Amnericans, need to know for sure - one way or the other.”

Call someone stupid for stating the obvious. You can’t see that Trump is a narcissists and puts himself first? If Trump wants to sue why doesn’t he sue? Because he wants to keep the issue alive he doesn’t want it resolved because he knows the outcome. I could call you stupid for your spelling of Amnericans but I wouldn’t do that because I know it’s a typo.

“Trump is pretty volatile.”

Yes. That’s an understatement.

At the risk of sounding sexist, he’s more like a woman than a man.

You probably got flamed by me, too.

But, for us years later to pretend that only the left objected to Iraq is contrary to the evidence.

And saying that Bush doctored the data was already being said by Buchanen and others ON THE RIGHT at the outset of the war.

http://buchanan.org/blog/pjb-costs-of-war-already-coming-in-527

The article is just a reminder of what was being said.

That said, I was against nation building, but for deposing Saddam and checking for his WMD capabilities. I always thought it was about terrorists with small quantities of WMDs and not about some terrorist bringing a missile or artillery system into the US.

“If you aren’t going to give a s*it be happy he is or else do everyone a favor and no longer complain in the future about the GOPe.”

Wrong. He is leading in most state polls and nationally. Obviously the RNC isn’t having an effect on him, is it? America just lost the finest SCOTUS justice in generations and the national situation is far more dire than whether the Donald feels like he’s being disrespected. He, like all the others, needs to get back on message and get ready to counter Her Malevolence and her demon imps in that other party.

And yes.. it’s “whining.” And Trump more than others, can’t seem to snap the habit of engaging in it. He should simply remind everyone that the fact his approach is winning the day, and move on.

There’s a convincing case to be made that the CBS control room ‘sweetened’ the boos and applause in the audio heard at home by the American public. Search youtube for the Still report dated 2/13/16. Yes, I’m wearing tinfoil, but crowd stacking alone can’t account for the sheer volume. Sounded like a stadium crowd at times.

And the so-called 'stacking' of audience doesn’t count.

The RNC was twice warned about stacking the audience after two previous debates. Trump will not roll over like your typical Republican wimp. The RNC is on notice for the next debate. They will take notice.

And I’m not saying it either. But what EVERY candidate should be doing is focusing on something besides how offended they are about someone else’s missive disrespected them.

Pretty much. In his mind if he doesn’t win the nomination it must be because someone else cheated.

"shut up and take it"

No.
Just deal with it like an adult, like a man and not a spoiled little boy. Deal with it without turning red in the face, pointing in all directions and yelling LIAR, LIAR, LIAR, followed up with "NOT TREATING ME NICE". Now he's (again) threatening to take his ball and go home to start his own team made up of servants and sycophants.

For Pete's sake - you've got to be 35 years old to be president, acting like 11 does not support his claim.
Or yours.

Good reply. If ever there was a candidate who didn't need to have paid operatives posting to comment threads, it's The Donald.

“No.
Just deal with it like an adult, like a man “

That means shut up and take it, or get in their face and tell them to knock it off or else.

Which one does the “real man” take?

Trump is doing the same thing as Ross Perot of 1992.

In 1992 Perot was in the campaign to keep Bush 41 from releasing the content of the 15,000 FBI files on police misconduct, which were being reviewed by the US Attorneys, from being released.

Democrat controlled city govts were covering up the police misconduct.

Reno fired the US Attorneys to cover up what was in the files.

Trump is in this campaign to get Hillary elected so she can keep the information in doc #AFGP-2002-600321 classified.

In that doc OBL tells you where to look for 90% of the preparations for the battle(attack) but those preparations can’t be made by the terrorist overseas only by people in this country.

90% of the preparations for the battle(attack) is the news.

Hillary concocted the “spontaneous” lie at Benghazi to contradict that doc. because it is none other than B & H Clinton that have been orchestrated the news for the attacks.

He not getting a fair shot. He’s the front runner and his own party is trying to take him down even though he has the people behind him on his #1 issue - immigration. Jeb started the food fight at the debate. The GOP, the media and the democrats are trying to silence the people. If the Trump haters succeed in taking him out, they will get Jeb and Jeb will lose to hillary. Jeb is the GOP’s choice.
