Donald Trump Floats Idea of a Third-Party Run Again
ABC News ^ | Feb 15, 2016 | BRAD MIELKE

At a town hall today in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, Donald Trump floated the idea -- without explicitly threatening to do so -- that he may run as an independent candidate.

Trump attacked the Republican National Committee, saying it "better get its act together" and it "does a terrible job." Trump said he believes the RNC treated him unfairly.

Trump also went off on the crowd that booed him during Saturday night's GOP debate in South Carolina: "Look at it, that was a wealthy room."

"The whole room was made of special interests and donors, which is a disgrace from the RNC," Trump said. "The RNC better get its act together because, you know, I signed a pledge. The pledge isn’t being honored by the RNC."

Trump signed an RNC pledge in September, agreeing not to run a third-party candidacy and to support the eventual Republican nominee.

"I signed a pledge, but it’s a double-edged pledge. As far as I’m concerned, they’re in default on their pledge," Trump said of the RNC.

Trump also spent several minutes hitting Sen. Ted Cruz on dirty campaign tactics, calling him the most dishonest guy in politics he’s ever met.

He’s criticized Cruz “holding up the Bible,” and says he’s beating Cruz when it comes to evangelical voters.

The donor class crowd spoke out of turn continuously with their boos and rudely interrupted candidates from answering questions. The crowed became part of the debate as a result of poor left wing moderating. Trump and Cruz had every right to call the crowed on their bias and their rude behavior.

Hillary’s stalking horse threatening what many said he would do shortly after he announced. Wreaking ball for Hillary or for Bernie if she is deposed. He likely flirted with the idea of going alone, but Hillary’s people have some item over his head and so ...

Actually, I am a stutterer. One characteristic of stutterers is that they are highly intelligent. Which is why I don't personally attack someone right at the start of a discussion.

But that doesn't change the question I posed. When Trump was way ahead of Cruz, he said that he had legal experts look at it and everything was OK. Now that Cruz has caught up, Trump says that his legal experts say that Cruz is not a NBC. Was Trump lying then or is he lying now?

So by your logic what is happening is alright because it isn’t happening to your candidate? No one gets to be a billionaire by NOT securing their best interests. I have no idea where Trumps promise from the GOP is kept. Perhaps you should contact his campaign and ask?

I think Trump saw what all of us did - his Canadian birth certificate - that’s all he has shown. There are other issues which haven’t been clarified. Did his mother give up her U.S. citizenship to become a Canadian? If so, then she wasn’t legally allowed to give him U.S. citizenship. Too many unanswered questions. Sorry about the stuttering comment - I was making a joke about your double post - it happens to all of us.

Trump never had his lawyers look into it previously, he was accepting the word of other legal experts that he did not know.

With what, three days or so ‘til the primary, he should just move on. He has to address the lies the Cruz team is putting out now. He has to address the stacking of the debate audience now. He doesn’t have the time or the luxury of ignoring it.

We can all see what happened in Iowa where Cruz was not called out to begin with. That embolden them to really go all out at caucus and claim Carson has dropped out.

The Cruz campaign is currently, in rallies, in phone calls, in the news and in home visits, telling everyone that Trump supports abortion, will end the second amendment and elect liberal judges.

Do you think he should ignore that?

Hi navymom1,

No ma’am. No logic involved at all.

I’m just an old curmudgeon that doesn’t like complainers. My three children will tell you that “fair” is a word not used in my household. Fair, to me, implies someone should give you a gift. Or, you are entitled to it. I believe in hard work and earning what you receive.

I really don’t have any interest in searching for something that doesn’t exist - so I’ll pass on your kind suggestion. Thank you for changing the subject though.

Just my casual opinion, Trump (and others) attempt to manipulate the playing field rather than being the best team on the field. I wish all would get rid of name calling, complaining, and stick to the issues about what they will do, and why.

As I told my children, true fairness is reaping the rewards of your effort; not bellyaching about others.

I wish you he best, my FRiend.

Gwjack

I think Trump planned to do this all along if he didn’t win the GOP nomination. Trump does not believe is small government, and he’d rather have Hillary Clinton choose the next USSC appointee than Ted Cruz.

Do you actually believe anything that you wrote in this paragraph?

“Fair” is a word that has been hijacked by commiepukes, like many other words.

It literally means that everyone has to play by the same rules, simple.

If “fair” implies to you that someone is demanding a gift, or some kind of entitlement, you have swallowed leftist doublespeak propaganda destruction of the English language.

Some online dictionary definitions (copying relevant ones, not fair weather or fair haired!):

Oxford:
In accordance with the rules or standards; legitimate

Without cheating or trying to achieve unjust advantage

Merriam Webster:
: agreeing with what is thought to be right or acceptable

: treating people in a way that does not favor some over others

Oxford

You think that because you perceive something about Trump you actually know him and that your conclusions are actually true. You need to re-evaluate your positions on Trump.
