A leading Supreme Court analyst thinks Attorney General Loretta Lynch is the "most likely candidate" to replace the late conservative Justice Antonin Scalia.
Tom Goldstein, who runs the influential SCOTUSblog, had earlier predicted Ninth Circuit Judge Paul Watford would make the top of President Obama's shortlist. But in a revised blog post, Goldstein said he now believes Lynch is the leading contender.
Lynch is a "very serious possibility," Goldstein wrote. "The fact that Lynch was vetted so recently for attorney general also makes it practical for the president to nominate her in relatively short order."

I tend to agree with that, but there’s a chance they won’t. In this instance it is actually surrendering the last vestige of constitutional America.
Perhaps someone will fight for that.
They only have to kill 11 months.
If they refuse to budge, they could perhaps get Obama to use a recess appointment. And then in retaliation, a new democrat senate could refuse a republican president’s appointments. They could then be recess appointments. Throw them out at the start of each new session of Congress.
Eventually, maybe all 9 justices could be recess appointments. That would be getting term limits without a constitutional amendment. Lol.

Good idea except for the unknown. What happens if the democrats take the Senate? What happens if Hillary or Bernie takes the Presidency? The devil you know vs the devil you don't know.
Behind the scene at the RNC...
"Yes sir, yes...but...you don't understand! It's getting harder and harder to keep Jeb afloat! The man's an idiot! I...what? Barbara? Yes, she calls me ['constantly' he says to himself]."
[sigh] "We'll do the best we can. Rubio? Yes, he's good at memorization, but get him flustered and...no, no; he'll definitely do as he's told. But...no, he can't, he's from the same state; it'll be either Bush or him. Right. One or the other."
"Who then? Well, we were thinking Christie? Yes, yes. We can approach him and see."

I doubt Obama would nominate Lynch simply because that would put her under oath and before a hostile committee. The chance that she would slip up and expose activities that Obama does not want out would be too great.
But doing so might be a grand tactic. Make a nomination that you KNOW is going to fail, wait for the Senate to go out of session, and then appoint someone to fill using a recess appointment.

Not really irrelevant in all the Senate races Republicans have to defend. And in the meantime most “ties” will go to Obama because of the makeup of most of the Courts feeding the SC.

We know all we need to know about Lynch.
Has she brought charges against Clinton top secret violations?
The IRS/Lois Lerner and crew?
Fast and Furious?

Lynch's performance since taking the AG job should be reason enough to dismiss her out of hand. She's a race baiter. Eric Holder with a skirt.

You're right but the charges of racism and war on women carry too much weight with the Republican Senators. Homophobia didn't stop Kennedy...

Obama cannot be trusted on anything and needs to be completely held in check by our Congress until his term is finished.Or we can just impeach him now and tell him we couldn't wait?
That would take the gas out of the train of nominations.
And it would be loads more satisfying...

My prediction.....Lynch will be picked first because she'll be the only one who's okay with falling on her sword for Obama.
She'll be castigated, tarred and feathered, and put through the mill for 11 months till the general election when she'll drop out.
She'll be rewarded handsomely in some way later for offering it up for her master as his sacrificial canary in the upcoming but temoporary coal mine disaster.

That would take the gas out of the train of nominations. And it would be loads more satisfying... I agree - I'd like to see the muslim marxist impeached but short of raping a small boy on the White House lawn I don't think that will happen.
I still have a recurring fantasy of an old, crusty Texas Ranger walking up to the steps of the White House with an arrest warrant, handcuffing the manchild, and perp walking him to his car and off to jail.
