Not usually. Autopsies generally revolve around the Y cut and taking all the organs and weighing them and visually inspecting and tissue samples from all. Autopsies are messy and time consuming, tox screens from a blood sample are pretty standard base work. That’s what usually finds out if you need an autopsy, find some unknown substance in the blood call in the ME, find some heart attack enzyme, call it a heart attack.
Well there are a number of reasons one might not have an autopsy too.
We really would need a Federal law to thrust all such cases into the light. I think the country can weather a lost-Scalia problem. A GOP Senate can tread water, never recessing (only adjourning) until the next President, which will probably be Trump. And Trump’s more serious comments have said he wants a justice like Thomas — it makes eminent sense because this is business friendly. Scalia’s passing, as I see it, is more of a warning from heaven than an unmitigated disaster. His not taking better care of himself sounds like a warning in itself. He showed signs of being demoralized before this, such as saying he did not care if the country had “gay marriages,” only about how.
OK, so it might have been there was a preliminary investigation (and that’s also why they said heart attack).
There’s almost always a preliminary, no matter how “within expectations” a death is there’s still a dead body, and a line in the death certificate that needs to be filled in.

Given the finances that Justice Scalia amassed over all his years and the need for the democrat party to stack the Supreme Court with another liberal judge, it's apparent the family was in on the assassination due to their expected inherited receipt of his wealth and their affiliation with the Illuminati...........

Read from major news source tonight that his death was ruled heart attack by a Justice of the Peace over the phone without examining the body. A 2nd JP who couldn’t get to the body in time said she would have ordered an autopsy.
Body has been embalmed without an autopsy. Yes family said no- but this was a high public official, who was out of town. FBI should have over-ruled the family.
This just smells- so many important cases coming up- timing is unbelievable.
The answer would be yes to both counts. If he had heart problems in the past his doctor would be seeing him every 6 months/yearly, for sonograms, scans and tests such as Cholesterol, b/p, When DH relayed that news to me it seemed so strange. Not that it happened but more like a recrimination that something might happen which would not be good. Brushed it off and went about my business. The feeling took a bit of time to subside. And then yesterday afternoon while I was napping the news broke and DH came in to wake me to tell me the news. Really weird attempting to wake and be coherent at the same time. The movie ‘The ‘Pelican Brief’ keeps popping to mind. The movie with Julia Roberts. That was seen years ago and is so very much like what we see here today. Washington DC is not filled with ‘good’ people. Be it in ‘plots’ or ‘real life’

Unfortunately autopsy is kind of an all or nothing thing. If they can’t do the whole shebang, doubtful they’ll allow one drop of blood to be analyzed.
Whoever they might be, do understand he had protection. If US Marshalls wonder if they are assigned upon arriving at a location or if they travel from location to location with him as they do with elected officials.

Exactly. And not only that, the fact that he was at work this past week and flew down to Texas for a weekend hunting trip indicates must not have been any immediate health concerns. To not do an autopsy under those circumstances is very hard to fathom.
