Premature or prophetic? While analysts tried to figure out who had a "ticket" coming out of New Hampshire, Ted Cruz told Salem's Mike Gallagher that only two tickets exist -- at least in first class. With a win in Iowa and a surprising third-place finish last night, Cruz warned the Republican Party that he's the only one in the field who can dethrone Trump:
"South Carolina historically has played a critical role picking presidents. And I think Iowa and New Hampshire perform an incredibly important function in narrowing the field and in many ways this field is becoming a two-person race between me and Donald Trump," the Texas senator said on the Mike Gallagher Show Wednesday. "What Iowa and New Hampshire demonstrate is that the only person in this field who can beat Donald Trump is me. The other candidates are not able to beat Donald Trump."

‘He’s not a real people person.....He struggles with it, but he’s not natural at it’
That’s a very important point, Doughty One!
Likeability factor......don’t underestimate it....
Between Trump and Cruz there is only ONE who has it
The American voters won’t care what the candidates know if the candidate doesn’t translate to them he cares about them!
This is the universal appeal of Trump!
He genuinely cares and can genuinely articulate it.
Thousands won ‘t......and don’t ....come out at night, during a blizzard to hear the Constitution quoted well
But they will come out to hear Trump express his sincere desire to correct and fix the very issues these people deal with every single day!
Quite simply they love him
He loves them
That translates into votes!
Stealing votes can accomplish wonders. I saw with my own eyes, in Chicago, how the democrat machine created enough votes for Illinois to put in win column for JFK, which was the deciding state to defeat Nixon in 1960.
Dr Carson claims Cruz campaign stole votes from him by spreading false rumors.
Excellent summation ... glad to see you are finally coming around
The caucus is by its very nature a corrupt and not very good system. It worked best for Cruz's ground game, but Cruz couldn't replicate it to win even the "very conservative" vote in New Hampshire, where the primary system strips many of the advantages of Cruz's tactics.
Your last line is blasphemous!
Somehow you think yourself above US commoners. You have a Cruz problem.. One Harvard Law School lawyer in my life time is enough.
It’s what Trumpbots believe. Trump is without fault. He is perfect. Omniscient. Deity incarnate. Our only hope. Without him, all hope is lost.
“The secret of success is sincerity. Once you can fake that you’ve got it made.” —Jean Giraudoux — French diplomat, dramatist, & novelist (1882 - 1944)
Great quote! Applies to all politicians you know... He was a smart man!
Cruz would be nuts to hitch his wagon to Trump.
Cruz would be forced to tow the Trump line over into liberal vill... It will destroy any chance for him to run in the future as a “conservative”.
It is not.
I wonder how you stay on FR with the scurrilous words you write.
Does no one object to guttersnipe anymore?
The perfect quote for Cruz!
What conservative vote in New Hampshire?
Kasich came in second and could have just as easily run as a Democrat...
He did run as a Democrat. That is why he got so many votes!
Which decision are you talking about? Lawrence v. Texas? The decision not to defend that law was made by the Attorney General's office - Ted was Solicitor General, he worked for the Attorney General.
Like you initials DB.. They could well be my own...heh.
Look at the Exit Polls. Kasich was propelled by moderate voters (though Trump still won all moderates). Kasich lost badly among "very conservative" voters to Cruz. But Trump dominated them both.
Go Trump!
You too are a force!
