Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush argued his support for abortions in the cases of rape and incest would help him win the presidential race after he asked about his recent criticism of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's pro-life stance during Saturday's Republican presidential debate on ABC.
Former Fla. Gov. Bush, who currently averages fifth place in national GOP nomination polls, told CNN in an interview Friday that Rubio's belief that abortion should not be permitted in the cases of rape and incest would be a "tough sell" to pro-life mothers whose daughters had been raped
"So, I am pro-life but I believe there should be exceptions — rape, incest and when the life of the mother is in danger," Bush continued. "That belief and my consistency on this makes me, I think, poised to be in the right place — the sweet spot — for Republican nominee. Others may have a different view and I respect it. We have to be cognizant of the fact that there are a lot of people that are concerned about having a pro-life position without any exceptions."
Bush's comments during the Friday interview somewhat echo a remark made by fellow GOP candidate New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who said Thursday that Rubio's stance on abortion would cause many New Hampshire voters to be "really concerned." During the debate he said aborting a rape-conceived baby is "an act of self-defense."
Yep. In some rule of etiquette someplace, there should be a prohibition against using “sweet spot”, “rape”, and “abortion” all in the same sentence.
I’m betting that Jeb was not the phi beta kappa in the family.
He thought letting some tinpot probate judge torture Terri Schindler Schiavo to death was some sort of political “sweet spot” too.

Killing children is a bad thing — even if the child’s father was a creep.
Most Trump supporters don’t care about the abortion issue at all, or any of the other issues. They’ve decided that the wall is the panacea to all America’s problems.
As long as he says “build that wall” they’ll support him even if he announces he’s pro-abortion and wants single-payer healthcare.

I also prefer that children of rape NEVER be aborted. They should be carried until the earliest viable point in time and then delivered.

I’m not at all surprised. He’s an unacceptable candidate. Anyone who is familiar with the Terri Schiavo case knew this years ago.
Just end the sentence there. As if one could justify the gassing of "some" Jews, or the slavery of "some" blacks.
Political expediency is not the same thing as ethics and morals. Jeb is pathetic (as is Christie).

I wouldn’t check for pregnancy in a rape or incest
The day or two after rape or Incest to me is health care to scrape away unsavory animal deposits. Don’t even check. Just clean.
I know many here will condemn me for this but too bad.
I’m also sick and tired of all the pro-abort candidates citing Reagan as their example. Reagan believed in no abortion except to “save the money”, which is never necessary.

Meant to save “save the mother”. That was Reagan’s view on abortion.
