Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush argued his support for abortions in the cases of rape and incest would help him win the presidential race after he asked about his recent criticism of Florida Sen. Marco Rubio's pro-life stance during Saturday's Republican presidential debate on ABC.
Former Fla. Gov. Bush, who currently averages fifth place in national GOP nomination polls, told CNN in an interview Friday that Rubio's belief that abortion should not be permitted in the cases of rape and incest would be a "tough sell" to pro-life mothers whose daughters had been raped
"So, I am pro-life but I believe there should be exceptions — rape, incest and when the life of the mother is in danger," Bush continued. "That belief and my consistency on this makes me, I think, poised to be in the right place — the sweet spot — for Republican nominee. Others may have a different view and I respect it. We have to be cognizant of the fact that there are a lot of people that are concerned about having a pro-life position without any exceptions."
Bush's comments during the Friday interview somewhat echo a remark made by fellow GOP candidate New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who said Thursday that Rubio's stance on abortion would cause many New Hampshire voters to be "really concerned." During the debate he said aborting a rape-conceived baby is "an act of self-defense."
It’s not about beliefs for Bush and Christie...it’s about being in the “sweet spot” politically.
If the unborn child is a child...exceptions for rape and incest make no sense at all. None.
The sweet spot. I heard that
He is idiotic

Here is the Rubio pro-life answer at the debate. Super.
I am looking for Christie’s response about “self-defense.”
Precisely. All opposition to abortion is based on the murder of a child in the womb.
Granting exceptions allows for the killing of these innocents when society, the mother, whatever, deems the child’s life less valuable than their sentiments about the child’s parentage. Such a position is clearly not pro-life.
The moral issue is the life of the child, not the sentiments of others. Typically, Bush is lost in the woods.
Because everybody knows that the souls of violence-conceived babies are not the same as passion-conceived babies.
Jeb, give the country a Valentines gift and go home.
Punish the baby for the crime the rapist committed. Inhuman and illogical.
Keep your vaunted honesty to yourself. I was for abortion before I was against it, as is Trump.
Bingo!
Bush's "sweet spot" is just another name for committing murder and a crime against humanity.
If someone came to your house and raped you and left a cocker spaniel puppy in your living room when he left. Would you kill the puppy out of revenge?

Challenge all pro-Aborts to write a law that ELIMINATES all abortions EXCEPT for those conceived in rape or incest.
Quit allowing liberals to paint pro-lifers with this issue.
To be clear, I am completely PRO-LIFE, even in cases of rape and incest.
But, I’m tired of being put on the spot with this red herring.
So, Jeb, Chris, will YOU sponsor a bill to OUTLAW abortion except in cases of rape & incest?
We don’t put rapists to death any longer; why should we punish the child with death for the crime of its father?
here is Christie with his SELF-DEFENSE answer

do I hafta watch the whole debate to see others? how many answered the question?
Barbarians.
If you think about it, incest, if it isn’t rape, is mutually consented to.
So, they don’t really need incest in there. Just rape.
And rape is no reason to dismember a different human being.
It took Jeb Bush to say “sweet spot”, SoConPubbie.
