If the New Hampshire office of the pro-Ben Carson super PAC 2016 Committee felt a little empty Monday, that’s because everybody quit—and joined Ted Cruz’s campaign.
WMUR reported Monday that all five paid New Hampshire staffers for the pro-Carson super PAC resigned Sunday to become volunteers for Cruz, the Texas senator, who they feel is the most electable conservative.
“We hold Dr. Carson in the highest regard,” the group’s spokesperson, Jerry Sickles, told WMUR. “This is a man we revere, but we think it is important that our party nominate a conservative and get behind a single conservative who can win, and we strongly believe that candidate is Ted Cruz.”
The announcement came the same day that Sam Pimm, the former national head of 2016 Committee—which has raised more than $3.8 million and spent nearly $900,000 in support of Carson—said he decided to switch his support to Cruz, according to Politico, citing electability concerns about Carson. Pimm said he left the super PAC earlier in the fall.
High-profile defections are becoming quite the trend for the Carson campaign.
The retired neurosurgeon’s campaign manager and communications director were among at least five Carson staffers who quit the campaign December 31.
The once-surging, outsider Republican candidate has seen his poll numbers free-fall, both nationally and in early-voting states, since early November.

BREAKING: Ted Cruz’s PR Guy Who Slanders Trump for Carson Lie is Founder of Shilling Company
[snip]The company specializes in SIGINT, online shilling, and what might be called propaganda. Gabriel was the one who pushed the angle that Carson was dropping out. After being caught the agent deleted the tweets and denied everything. However, other twitter users took a screenshot and saved his tweets and their exchange.
Posting a month old story as Breaking News. Is there no level you people will not stoop to?
This could explain a lot (hypothetical): These pro-Carson PAC folks were planning on jumping ship in Iowa and leaked the “Carson going home to Florida” story to CNN before the official start of the Caucuses. That, in turn, created the cover story for Cruz to disseminate a story his 1,500+ campaign operatives that Carson was dropping out.
These turncoats knew the seeds of Carson dropping out had been planted with the media and that information was shared with their new employer, the Cruz campaign. Ergo, why the Cruz campaign was just waiting for the media to report before voting commenced.
“You’re free to criticize Cruz. But critique him on the facts, not on foolish birther talk or corruption talk. “
The fact Cruz has been critiqued on is his wife as a GS executive, His support for the disastrous Judge Roberts, his deceptive stunt in Iowa, the “voting violation” notice, and his saving TPP for Obama by authoring and passing fast track authority for Obama. We judge his behavior in the Mississippi Senate election. Those are facts.
It comes down to trust. I would vote for Cruz, but I do not really have very much trust in him. Certainly not more than I do for Trump.
And I ain’t leaving sparky.
Itâs the truth.
Iâm tired of FReepers damning Cruz. They need to understand that if they do, they are opposing Jim Robinson. And maybe they should leave the site he founded.
And you are suggesting they should leave....if they disagree. SO much for discourse and debate...
Isn’t this just a little bit or a lot over the top?!?
Were you one of the group that was trying to get Trump threads pulled or going to another “more conservative” alternate site a couple weeks ago?
âDate is up there right under the headlineâ
Thatâs right. January 11, 2016.
That means it is NOT breaking news.
Itâs fine to post it if the person who started the thread wanted to. But it is NOT breaking news, and misleading to treat it as such.
And I’d bet dollars to donuts that these folks are no longer “volunteers” but are paid Cruz staffers.
If Cruz win the nomination, I will vote for him. But to stifle free speech here is wrong. Trump has brought up issues that everyone else was going to ignore ( including Cruz)- like illegal immigration and the Muslim problem. My vote is for Trump.
I have requested from admin to remove it from breaking news. Wasn’t trying to trick and thought it was relevant.
I can’t speak for the rest of “you people” but I didn’t post it and I didn’t know it was a month old and I didn’t find it on Breaking News
But if that too is evil (as evil as communicating a CNN story on Caucus night), then I guess I qualify as one who stoops
“I have requested from admin to remove it from breaking news. Wasnât trying to trick and thought it was relevant.”
OK.
That’s how something like this SHOULD be handled. Thank you. Too often these days it just results in a screaming match and everybody goes away mad.
I notice in all the copies of that Trump wedding photo on your creepy stalker bulletin board you made sure his sweet and hot wife was edited out. Deceitful.
Well then, maybe that’s why FR has changed so much.
Just heard news report that Carson just announced he’s “drastically reducing campaign expenses” by letting go of half his staff and flying commercial instead of private jets.
(One of the things Ted Cruz mentioned when I saw him Monday before the caucus was that, because he’s frugal, he flies commercial while other candidates use private jets. I thought Trump, Bush, Rubio, ... but, not Dr. Ben Carson!)
Poor, poor Dr. Carson...
>>(If you trash Cruz, you are in essence trashing the founder of Free Republic.)
I’m not sure what is worse about that statement: the implied threat or the obvious butt-kissing.
I guess you see freedom as “some animals are more equal than others.”
lol... I will take that bet.. have no connections to his campaign, but I believe he is our best choice for a presidential candidate. Wish I was paid.
If you don’t mind me asking how much are you paid by Trump to defend him on FR?
Sadly, it seems that as of late, by the number of threads I have seen, there has been a LOT of trashing of Sen. Cruz.
Good point.
LOL
I posted the article, I didn’t write it.
Do you have proof that they went from being paid by Carson to being paid by Cruz, and that they where not volunteers?
If not, why do you call this a lie?
