Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is lashing out at Marco Rubio and Donald Trump on immigration while facing New Hampshire voters for the first time since his Iowa caucus victory.
Cruz charged that Rubio led the fight for "amnesty" for immigrants in the country illegally. He also said Trump didn't do anything to fight immigration reform as the debate raged on Capitol Hill in 2013.
Are you implying Rafael Cruz, born in Canada, to a Cuban father and American mother is a carpetbagger?
Nailed it! Cruz is a chameleon like creature born in Canada. He will adapt to the location. In Iowa he is incarnation of Elmer Gantry. In NH, he will adapt to north-east values.
No wonder not even 1 out of his 99 colleagues, with whom he works everyday and know him best, has endorsed him. You made me change by Tagline lol..
Trumps comments in 2013 and prior
I wonder when they portray Ted Cruz on South Park, if they’ll portray him as a Canadian, complete with flapping head.
Cruz is already in SC with his Elmer Gantry impersonation. Won’t work down there. SC folk can spot a phony from a mile off. In addition to that all the establishment RINOs in SC have endorsed little Marco. They can’t stand Cruz. As of today Trump has held very good double digit leads on the other candidates in SC. The SC RINO GOP will be going all out for him to try and beat Trump. Cruz is an afterthought. The establishment snobs tried the same thing in 2012 when they supported RINO Romney over Newt. But they forget that the good people in SC didn’t want nothing to do with Romney so Newt won the primary handily.
... but yet they've reelected Lindsey Graham multiple times.
I have no doubt that IF Cruz should get in (I seriously do not see that happening) he will screw us with immigration.
He presents this great facade of strength and people fall for this act. He’s a freaking lawyer! Talking his way around issues and he’s VERY talented at that, no doubt.
I honestly didn’t think he was this full of it until recently. He’s two faced and that is a character trait I detest.
We’ll have Rubio dumped on us and I’m still furious at Rush. He can kma. If I’m aware enough to see the writing on the wall, there is no excuse for Rush not seeing it. Unless.....
They all stink - we’re on our own and that makes me see this world in a whole different light.
Just for clarity - it’s not that I look to Rush (or any talking head) to direct me and my decisions, but rather, how shocked I was today to hear him fall ‘in line’.
Thanks gg, I’m guessing I’m not alone in seeing this reality unfold. Sickening isn’t it?
?
!
How convenient.
See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil - about Trump.
No sale.
Exactly - and last night on her show, Kelly and Luntz reviewed that incident (ran clip - but cut the beginning where she talked about the Rubio-Cruz exchange “facilitated” by Kelly) and went on at length about how that Luntz group showed there were undecided voters and foretold of a possible Rubio surge. Then they kept running clips of Rubio and talking about his appeal (he’s the new Establishment Jeb).
David Vitter and Donald Trump the flawed patriots were relentlessly mocking and undermining Rubio, while Rush & Cruz said Rubio wasn’t a bad guy.
Even Scott Brown understands that amnesty is useless when the white women voters were key to him winning.
Cruz is out with some delusion that Rio Grande hispanics who voted for Wendy Davis in the general are swing voters.
I’m not up on the latest about the fake birther thing, but if Cruz is pronounced eligible, it would ‘out’ the Constitution as fake.
You’ll probably agree with John Valentine and a few others ...

.. but the back and forth after that is painful. Courts will most likely agree that Cruz is eligibible, but creepy Tribe is right. It defies original intent, and the 14th amendment does nothing to change that.
I would vote for Cruz regardless of the Constitution only because I’m a patriot first and a constitutionalist second. He would make an excellent president in many non-executive ways. But I hope we don’t get mired with such a paradox.
He had a huge rally in New Hampshire February 2. It was reported on a site called Free Republic on a thread of 900+ posts.
Cruz is a politician. He may be more conservative than others in the race on certain issues. But I am tired of politicians. They always say what you want to here, then they ALWAYS disappoint and do what their benefactors tell them to do. Ever since the Citizen United case was decided, big business, Chamber of Commerce have been running our politicians. They care about cheap labor regardless of how much it costs us financially or culturally. They just don’t care. Our politicians don’t even care what we think anymore. Who else is there to vote for?
Trump comes along and he doesn’t talk or walk like a politician. Does he scare me? Yes. Does he scare me more than another politician? No. I’m pretty sure what I’m going to get from them. At least with Trump there is a chance he will put a halt on the illegal and legal immigration and do something about our trade/economy situation. Our country as we’ve known it is being lost. We have a chance with him, IMO.
I’m with you, I don’t think Cruz will get anything accomplished on immigration. The only reason he’s talking about it at all, is Trump. He wants to beat Trump, so he had to change his policies.
I still love listening to Rush. I think he is too blinded by his personal relationship with Rubio to realize how much Rubio was trying to screw this country with his gang of 8 bill. He’s not being honest with himself. He is a brilliant analyst, but he’s off the mark on this one, IMO.
Trump is going to have a rally in Little Rock, Arkansas tomorrow - there was a rumor last week that Huckabee was going to endorse him. Given Huckabee dropped out of the race on Monday, I suspect that will happen. IIRC, Trump will have 1 or 2 rallies in NH tomorrow (he had a nice one last night - Feb 2)
Well said and I do agree. Except the Rush part, I can’t shake the sense that he’s all in on this tragic game.
I’ll watch for threads regarding him and his great analysis and see how far he’s gone off the rails. What he said about Rubio was just a bridge too far and I haven’t the stomach to listen to him spin it - which I’m sure he will do today.
Thanks
I’m not into dead ender birther debates. They’re a waste of time.
