Trump congratulates Ted Cruz
Thanks Iowans for their support, and says he loves them ( he might even buy a farm there )
Gives his appreciation to all other candidates especially Huckabee ( who suspended his campaign )
Looks forward to New Hampshire ( where he has a huge lead ) and South Carolina ( likewise )
He is no doubt feeling fortunate tonight not to have come in third. It is all a matter of perspective. :)
Not here on this thread
Have you set foot in Iowa?
I don’t know if Trump has, but he has directly helped individuals in Iowa long before 2016.
Exactly what we DON'T need.
YOU being a condescending PLICK.
Amen ! Thank you ! The best is yet to come ...
Trump now more than ever !
And what is with Rubio? He won in the populated leftist counties around Des Moines.
Don’t forget the university counties that also went for Rubio. Establishment and academe......
Glad the Falcons helped you exhale. :)
Wish the Panthers well and I hope they win the big game!
I am not sure exactly how we would do it but I think Cruz people would classlessly use the term Schlonged in all our concession speeches
Iowa is a weird place. This is not news. Trump took a strong second. He knows he’s in a good position. He looked happy enough to me and he should.
That’s my concern too. If Cruz doesn’t get the birth issue straightened out, if/when he is the nominee, the dems will surely raise the issue. Then what if he is not eligible? What’s our fall back position.
I had a strange thought about the left, Democrats know that Hillary & Bernie have no chance with all the baggage of the past 8 years of Obama. So they are going to vote for the least harmful Republican to keep the political elite status quo in power. Rubio is that candidate. He is woefully unprepared and rates with Ryan, McConnell, Boehner et all.
RE: If Cruz doesn’t get the birth issue straightened out, if/when he is the nominee, the dems will surely raise the issue. Then what if he is not eligible? What’s our fall back position.
So, why doesn’t Trump file a suit now? He has the standing in court.
I mean what can Cruz do at this point in time? Sue himself?
“I think he gave a nice simple and respectful speech.”
If he actually said he might buy a farm there it was anything but respectful.
That is a common way for people that live in cities to call people that live in the country “hicks”.
Democrats also know that Conservatives won’t hold their nose this time and vote for Rubio. So there would be a chance for Hillary or Bernie a slim chance.
Pretty sure it’s a spray tan, and I wish he would stop or lighten up the tint. He looks like an Ompa-lumpa.
That Trump did so well with his unconventional campaign, which included holding huge rallies, says a lot. It also say much about him. For one who did not participate in the last debate, I think he put one hand behind his back. What The Donald learns from Iowa will help him in the months ahead.
Cruz had a well organized ground game with 12,000 volunteers averaging 2,000 door-knocks a day, and 20,000 calls per day. Cruz’s team has been working Iowa for months. His team was very effective in the full use of data-driven techniques. Technology was not only being used to identify Cruz supporters, it was also helping staff and volunteers learn how to make the most effective argument to persuadable voters. Cruz had one more advantage: He had evangelicals and other conservative Christians which formed a bedrock of his support. Traditionally, they are among the most reliable of all GOP caucus-goers.
Trump kept his ground game secret. Insiders say it was a good one but it was no match for Cruz’s. I congratulate Cruz for his well run campaign.
Yes, he was a class act. I was very pleased with how he handled this.
Affirmative..
LOL... good one.
With all due respect, I have noooo idea what you are talking about.
I live in Chicagoland and never ever heard that expression or idea used to put down country folks...
Oh and my parents were from Iowa and son went to Iowa state—so I know and love Iowa.
I actually went to a trump Rally in Iowa, and I can tell you that he had nothing but fondness and respect for Iowans and their state.
