Sarah Palin interview derails when she's asked about her son's arrest

Former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska bristled during a Monday interview on NBC's "Today" show when she was pressed about her provocative comments about her son's arrest and post-traumatic stress disorder.

"You guys brought me here to talk about Iowa politics and the caucus tonight — not to talk about my kids," Palin said. "And that was a promise. But as things go in the world of media, you guys don't always keep your promises, evidently."

Track Palin, a veteran who is Palin's oldest child, was charged last month in a domestic-violence case "in which his girlfriend said he punched her in the head and threatened to fire a rifle, court and police documents said," according to The New York Times.

Palin alluded to the arrest at a January rally for Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump.

The 2008 vice-presidential candidate, who endorsed Trump in this year's race around the same her son's arrest became public, referred at the rally to the "elephant in the room" and what she said her family was going through "personally" before suggesting that PTSD was to blame. Some veterans criticized Palin for promoting a stereotype of the dangerous veteran.

"It's a shame that our military personnel even have to wonder, if they have to question if they're respected anymore. It starts from the top," Palin said at the rally. "The question, though, it comes from our own president, when they have to look at him and wonder, 'Do you know what we go through?'"

I wish she would have done more of this when she WAS a candidate. I’ve always contended she was trying to play nice with them then, believing they would reciprocate..........bad decision.

“Slime balls” is way too kind. I haven’t watched any ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, or CNN news for a couple of years and my blood pressure is far better.

You are in good company. More people get their news from Matt Drudge than CNN....

Actually it was McCain’s campaign staff, who muzzled Palin. She was under orders to be nice.

Has anyone in the MSM, at any time confronted Biden about his son being discharged from the Navy Reserves because of his positive for cocaine drug test?

Oh, trust me...I definitely had to censor myself with that comment! These pigs wouldn’t think of doing that to any Democrat! Like you, I haven’t watched any of these “news” outlets in many years.

Sarah wants it both ways? She has made them public figures. But of course no one talks about Chelsey.or her crooked father-in-law. Give it to Obama that he has generally kept his girls out of the limelight.

Nope. But when a broadcast network brings you on to talk about subjects A and B, then wants to go for topic C for no other reason but attack you, you should slap them silly of both their dishonesty and their scum bag behavior.

Palin has never really shied away from the media or capitulated to their trap questions, but I think Trump brought the attitude she showed out a little stronger...

Way to go, Sarah...
Way to go, Donald...

Sarah should have known better than to do an interview with NBC.

I can’t understand why a person being interviewed doesn’t have the intelligence to ask “What people? What are their names?” If the questioner can’t name someone then say “Apparently you made that up so let’s go to the next question.”

I’ve always been a Palin supporter (check my history if you must) but whenever she speaks now I have to wonder how she can be the same person that killed it, just dominated at the 2008 GOP convention. I’m talking about her speaking style, not her politics or personal stuff. That was one of the best convention speeches ever and now she just seems to wander around, rhetorically speaking. That Trump endorsement speech made me cringe.
