Donald Trump again claimed that Sen. Ted Cruz may not be a U.S. citizen, The Guardian reports.
Said Trump: âHeâs an anchor baby. Ted Cruz is an anchor baby in Canada, but Canada doesnât accept anchor babies, they just waited a long time.â
He added: âI think thatâs one of the reasons heâs a nervous wreck. Now theyâre saying, I think, his career is over, right? How about this, heâs a citizen of Canada and heâs a senator from Texas?â
I agree. His “revenge” at the slightest criticism is beyond the pale. There are also the racist insinuations...Cruz is not “one of us” “Evangelical from Cuba” “anchor baby” and on and on...This stuff sounds like 1930’s Germany. I won’t vote for anyone who stoops to this level of trying to destroy someone personally.
Truth, Justice, and the American Way.
You’re just making of stuff. We don’t do that on FR.
However, your question is a good one that I haven't heard before. Does Cruz also have Cuban citizenship descended to him by his father? The timing of Rafael Cruz' Canadian citizenship has not been disclosed.
The United States naturalization oath of allegiance big with "I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;"
Canada's does not contain a renouncement of previous allegiance.
Did Cruz inherit Cuban citizenship via his father, American citizenship via his mother, and Canadian citizenship via the land?
Did Cruz have triple citizenship? How can one be a natural born of one country when having birthright claims from three different countries simultaneously?
Well done with that question!

The Constitution has a reference to person born overseas of at least one Cuban citizen, but the Constitution says you have to comply with the stipulations of law.
Cuba, being a communist country, is not happy with dual-U.S./Cuban citizens.
Dual Nationality: The Government of Cuba does not recognize the U.S. nationality of U.S. citizens who are born in Cuba or are the children of Cuban parents. These individuals will be treated solely as Cuban citizens and may be subject to a range of restrictions and obligations, including military service. The Cuban government may require Cuban-American citizens to enter and depart Cuba using a Cuban passport. Using a Cuban passport for this purpose does not jeopardize one’s U.S. citizenship; however, such persons must use their U.S. passports to enter and depart the United States. In some instances, dual nationals may be required to obtain exit permission from the Cuban government in order to return to the United States. There have been cases of Cuban-American dual nationals being forced by the Cuban government to surrender their U.S. passports. Despite these restrictions, Cuban-American dual nationals who fall ill may only be treated at hospitals for foreigners (except in emergencies). See the Consular Access paragraph below for information on Cuba’s denial of consular services to Cuban-American dual nationals who have been arrested, as well as the Childrenâs Issues paragraph below for information on how dual nationality may affect welfare inquiries and custody disputes.
>funny, isn’t it, that you thought a communist country would recognize a person to be a dual citizen by birth, but not a democratic country.
This is the same Michelle Malkin he called “born stupid” a while back.
Stay Classy Donald....... Stay Classy.
I doubt he will double cross the Clintons since they’ve been friends for decades.
You don’t like the consequences of trump’s anchor baby Cruz slur.
I don’t like false data.
Freepers don’t do that.
Calling Cruz an anchor baby is “false data”
Trump isn’t a Freeper.
I know. Trump is a clinton donor.
At birth, Ted was indeed a citizen of Cuba, just the same as he was a citizen of the US. He is not a NBC of any country, being of mixed heritage at birth (country, mother, and father none the same).
This has been discussed on FR for a couple weeks anyway.
A natural born citizen requires both parents to be US citizens, and their child be born on US soil. Trump is natural born, Cruz is NOT, and Cruz knows he is NOT!
I have no clue about Trump’s children’s.
Cruz is a natural born citizen because I say he is.
Then you like Cruz are not following ‘original intent’ of the Constitution. Open borders is the agenda, and Cruz is demonstrating he is for open borders. Contrary to what he says in public.
Good one, lol.
I tired of his antics after about Week One....amazing how large his FR contingent remains, however.
