Chuck Todd: Trump Event Had ‘Rock Concert Atmosphere’ Versus ‘Low Energy’ GOP Debate
newsbusters.org ^ | January 28

While Thursday night's GOP debate was still on-going, NBC's Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd appeared on MSNBC's The Last Word and hyped that Donald Trump events like the one he held instead of attending the debate have a "sort of like this rock concert feel" while the latest Republican presidential debate felt like it was "low energy" instead.

After joking that Rick Santorum was desperately trying to not stand directly behind the Trump campaign podium at the so-called event for veterans, Todd mentioned that he was there for awhile before coming back to the debate site and noticed that "[i]t had a rock concert atmosphere."

Give credit where credit is due. All along, Trump has been accused of being all talk, no accomplishments. In less than 24 hours Trump raised $6 million dollars for vets, and he did it in a way so that us little folk weren't excluded.

I'd like for the Trump detractors to name one candidate (or other person, really) who could conceivably have put together an event like this in 24 hours and pull it off well. That tells you something about his own organizational skills, but it tells you the most about the efficiency of the organization he has built around him. Think about having that on our side.

Trump showed that the Vets are more important than himself. When Fox gave him an apology for writing in a press release,

"We learned from a secret back channel that the Ayatollah and Putin both intend to treat Donald Trump unfairly when they meet with him if he becomes "president." A nefarious source tells us that Trump has his own secret plan to replace the Cabinet with his Twitter followers to see if he should even go to those meetings."

it was too late. Trump had agreed to attend the Veterans' fundraiser. He showed great strength when he did that for the Veterans. He likes the debates. But, Fox was too late to give the apology. By then he agreed to attend the fundraiser, 24 hours later. He took a huge risk to stand by his commitment. That fundraiser raised $6 million. At that fundraiser he said,

"You have to stick up for your rights. When you are treated badly, you have to stick up for your rights. You have to do it. And, whether we like it or not; whether it is something we want to do or not, and that's what our country has to do--I mean--as an example, Iran. The way they have been treating us, with all of this horrible deal. This deal is one of the worst deals I have ever seen negotiated under any circumstances. And we just take it. We have to stick up for ourselves as people and we have to stick up for our country when we are being mistreated. Remember that."

No, Trump is not acting like a child. He is sticking up for our Vets. He is acting like an adult, putting the needs of the vets before himself--as well as he will do for our nation when he becomes President.

The trump event may have had a rock concert atmosphere,
but the debate was not low energy.

You can gush all you want like a little school girl at her first concert. I take a more serious approach.

You are right John Wayne Walding deserved Roman Columns as did his veteran friends who spoke, but then Trump only had 24 hours to put this together. Our veterans deserve the best!

Some of you are beginning to sound like Obama supporters.
Not every Trump supporter is some sort of mouth-breathing moron, so please stop trying to paint them as so.

Since Trump has created more jobs PERSONALLY than all 44 previous presidents COMBINED, Trump fans have every right to admire that phenomenal accomplishment.

But even more important for me is that Trump is not funded by Goldman Sachs, or other Wall Street banks, Lobbyists, Robert Mercer (sugar daddy of Cruz, $31 Million), and other ultra-rich donor class.

I would never in a million years call myself a fan of a politician because it would mean i had lost all objectivity. I guess i just hold myself to a higher standard than you do.
