‘Was That All An Act?’: Cruz Confronted by Kelly, Paul and Rubio Over Immigration History
theblaze.com ^ | January 28

Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz came under fire Thursday night, being accused by 2016 rivals of not being truthful about his former position on immigration.

The Texas senator was first grilled by moderator Megyn Kelly on the issue. She played video of Cruz saying he was in favor of passing immigration reform in 2013 if a pathway to citizenship was removed by way of an amendment he had proposed. Such reform would have still allowed for legalizing individuals who were in the U.S. illegally.

"Was that all an act?" Kelly asked after playing multiple video clips of Cruz. "It was pretty convincing."

“Sounds like this was more the tactic of an ‘ambush interview’. Or ‘tough questions during an interview’, if you prefer — but no place for a ‘debate moderator’. Unless the ‘debate moderator’ sought to become the focal point - rather than the debaters.”

A narcissistic personality disorder will do that to you. JMO.

They are not debates.

They are antagonistic public interviews, designed to belittle the candidates, while making the inquisitor appear oh so smart and fact filled and versed in the art of dissection.

For too long we have been clamoring for the RNC to flip them the collective bird, only to have them accept each and every invite to come into the web for another round of GOTCHA!.

I applaud Trump for telling it like it is.

And, this is a fact, any time Mr. Cruz would do the same, it would be shouted from the rooftops as being spectacularly wonderful, and about time, and much backslapping.

Truth is, regardless of who one supports, it is in fact time to wrest the microphone away from these low life aholes bent on self aggrandizement while posing as knowledgeable political "debate" moderators.

What’s up with showing film clips of just one participant during a debate?

Am I the only one who thinks that the moderators playing the role of prosecutors is unacceptable? This is beyond the pale, she’s actually debating and allowed to bring in notes, videos, and other props as needed.

The moderators did to everyone, so it was fair play; and it gave the speaker a chance to rebut or clarify. I had no problem with that tactic.

On the other hand, Trump would have had plenty of problems with his past statements.

You know, I wish the Republicans would just stop these stupid debates. They are just eating each other and the Democrat party loves it. By the time these debates are over, our side is wounded and sometimes can’t recover. It gives the Dems sound bites to use against us in the general election. They don’t call the Republican Party the stupid party for nothing.

Couldn’t they have refused to include the Cruz’s amendment with the bill and passed it a it was?

You really are naive aren’t you? These “reporters” cherry pick the people they want to highlight. I doubt that many were Trump supporters and now aren’t. You sure do believe lies don’t you?

I’m honestly confused by this. What was Cruz doing?

He offered amendments to the bill to kill he bill? He wanted it passed but didn’t want it passed?

Was it a ‘poison pill’ amendment?

Can you please explain it to me because I don’t understand it when Cruz does.

Thanks because it’s honestly confusing to me and it’s a pretty big issue.
