BLOOMFIELD, Iowa - James and Brooks Schooley are raising a young family in this tiny Iowa community. They support Ted Cruz and brought their kids to an old church near the Bloomfield town square to hear the candidate, along with Iowa Rep. Steve King and former Texas Gov. Rick Perry.
The Schooleys like Cruz's faith and his fealty to the Constitution. But their choice is also shaped by their wariness of the Republican front-runner, Donald Trump.
"He's not principled," James Schooley told me, referring to Trump. "He just goes by emotion."
"I feel like he doesn't stick to the Constitution the way Ted Cruz would," added Brooks. "Once you go away from that, then where's your standard? I mean, you can do anything."...

No I just have a working knowledge of Byron York. LOL!
Even if Trump loses 10% he still is double-digits ahead of the others.
Those who have opposed the way the media have handled debates should applaud Trump for taking this stand. Otherwise, they are as much of the problem as the media are.
Trump doesn’t need this debate. And if CNN or some other channel broadcasts his competing Vets Rally, they will blow the FauxNews debate out of the water.
Not at all....ever hear York on Bill Bennett (if you can stomach him—either one.)
Hee hee. Does Byron hold any relevance? Does the poor folk ever get anything right?
The OpenBorders crowd are in pure panic mode.
A thing of beauty to witness.
The undecided voter is a myth. people who are undecided at this point are just wannabe intellectuals who think if they say they are undecided it somehow makes them smarter..it’s bs..I don’t know anybody who is undecided at this point and I’m so sick of these people who say they are undecided . They are liars
I don’t think so. Every time Trump acts like Trump, the stupid “experts” show how off track they are.
[Nope, primary votes are getting to see what a Trump presidency would look like...unstable and embarrassing.]
It only seems that way b/c you’ve been used to the incompetence and capitulation of Obama in front of our country and her enemies. So of course, someone with some balls and brass might seem a little harsh for your tender ego.
No what was unstable and embarrassing was Cruz’s attempt as sounding tough by challenging Trump to an unsanctioned and against the RNC rules debate on a radio show who’s host is nothing more than a Cruz sycophant. Not to mention his d—che chilling ‘oath of office’ at the Glenn Beck circus.
Unfortunately for Trump, it will be people like the Schooleys selecting convention delegates - not the media.
This is how Trump rolls. He wanted to walk on this and baited them until he got the silly reply.
Trump has done more interviews on more different stations than the others combined. He already attended 6 debates and is on general record as having won them all. Trump set them up and walked. He just sucked the air right out of the system one more time.
Exactly right. He knows he’s gonna get hammered by Ted Cruz on “My New York values are not Iowa values” and “Iowans are stupid for not supporting me over Ben Carson” etc. He was destined to go down in flames and he knew it, so he bugged out of the debate. And then in typical Trump fashion, he blamed his cowardice on Megyn Kelly and Fox News.
[The undecided voter is a myth.]
If you’re undecided at this point, you’re an uninformed idiot, and should probably remove yourself from the voting process before you destroy it.
And the title doesn’t match the article at all. It’s all about people that never backed Trump anyway.
Said the rational Iowans.
Trump is at every previous debate.
Trump isn’t at one.
Conclusion: This will hurt Trump and fuel doubts?
Uh....ok.
“So of course, someone with some balls and brass might seem a little harsh for your tender ego.”
They are known as cuckservatives.
So, yeah, it’s pretty brilliant, and your little snark is pretty tacky.

Yes, let us characterized the COWARDLINESS of DONALD TRUMP (LET US ALL SING HIS PRAISES) as ABSOLUTE BRILLIANCE.
Hey, that’s great. Go with your conscience.
Actually I like Rand Paul - I just don’t think he can win.
I like Cruz too, I don’t think he can win.
I think with Trump, I’m going to get tired of winning! :)
I don't think anybody can afford to lose 10% before the first votes come in.
Of course. Anyone who disagrees with Trump is an idiot, a bimbo, and no one watches him anymore.
Trump is a three-year-old.
Does Trump think he can win? Will he walk away at the last minute?
