Real-estate mogul Donald Trump strongly objected at a Tuesday-evening press conference when a reporter did not provide the full context of one of his quotes.
The reporter noted that Trump is being criticized on the campaign trail because he said on "Meet the Press" in 1999 that he was strongly in favor of abortion rights. Critics say the quote is evidence that Trump, who has since changed his position, is untrustworthy on the issue.
"Read the full statement of what I said," Trump said as he took questions in Marshalltown, Iowa. "Read the full statement. No, no, you're not reading the full statement. Read it. ... Read the full statement."
The Republican presidential front-runner then simply said that he was pro-life and moved on to other questions.

Too funny.
What did the full statement say?
Trump showed more patience that I would have. That reporter would have been thrown out into the cold. Without his coat.
I thought Trump handled that manipulative reporter effectively and appropriately. He also managed to dodge the opportunity to clarify his position on abortion, though. I got the impression that it is “oppose morally, support legally”, just one step back up the slippery slope from where we are today.
Don’t you know who I am??
Since probably better than 95% of journaldogs are joyful baby killers was the questioner concerned that Trump had strayed off the reservation?
Trump has answered this question on when and why his position changed.
There are things I do not like about Trump but it appears that his position on several issues have honestly changed over the years from a more leftist to conservative position.
Seems like The Donald does not like when he is confronted with his own words.
I don’t know. Trump until recently was very liberal on everything including abortion. I would guess, and don’t know, that the comment would have shown this. But Trump and his supporters are sick and tired of getting bogged down in the fact that a couple of years ago Trump was a flaming liberal. They prefer the idea that he’s always been one of us.
The Republicans have been the media's pulltoy everytime this tactic is used on them - half quotes, partial quotes, quotes taken out of contexts...Pubbies never correct them or call them out for it...they just fold like the Gutless Old Party that they are.
NY values on display. Trump refused to be outed by a gotcha reporter.
Yes, and neither do his supporters. They prefer the make believe Trump.
That’s what we got with all weasel-worded congressmen who say things like “Well I personally don’t support (sodomite) marriage but I won’t oppose it as the law of the land”. If they don’t oppose it as law, and they are the lawmakers, then what the heck good is anybody’s “personal” opposition?
So what was the original quote in context?
Then he should be locked and loaded with sharp and coherent replies when he is challenged. Brow beating indicates defensiveness.
His pro-life conversion came as a result of a "superstar" child. When asked about "loser babies" he gets vague, or worse.
The reporter willfully mangled an old Trump quote, and Trump called him on it.
THIS is what I’m looking for!

I think Trump is about to unravel. All the signs are there.
We’ll see.
