In a rapidly intensifying back-and-forth between Fox News Channel and the campaign of Republican frontrunner Donald Trump, the network Tuesday night accused Trump's campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski of threatening FNC host and debate moderator Megyn Kelly.

In a statement, a Fox News spokesperson said "in a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a 'rough couple of days after that last debate' and he 'would hate to have her go through that again.' Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can't give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees."

Breaking...Trump source says Trump isn’t taking Ailes calls. Hannity just tried calling trump as an emissary. Trump only wants to deal with Murdoch now.

Harangue?

Trump actually agreed with the "harangue" as indicated by the transcript. Since when is quoting someone's words to him a "harangue"?

Talk about rapid escalation. By tomorrow the lawyers will be involved.

I keep telling people that CNN is better than Fox now.

And, yes, CNN was eating this story up. And, many thought Trump was right. None of those were establishment representatives, though.

No one believes me.

I also watch Morning Joe. The celebrity diet recipes and "banter" on Fox and Friends don't cut it for a political junky.

That poll only means that so far 2382 Trump supporters, many of whom have Fox on all day long and saw the poll in the first place, all immediately leaped to the aid of their leader, and 872 people of the other hundreds of thousands watching figured, oh what the heck, might as well vote if it doesn’t cost any money.

And Murdoch knows that. He’s not worried.

It was supposed to be a debate with moderators, not an “interview”

At any rate, she ended up looking very, very bad...Deservedly so...

It sounds as thought you have another opinion...That’s fine...

In the end, as long as one of the republican candidates beat Hillary or Sanders, it works....

And yet another reason Trump (and Cruz) should stay the Hell away from that nutjob Megyn Kelly.

Does that sound to you like the temperament of a man we should elect as president, and how will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who was likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?

Sounds like a question to me.

They were loaded and demeaning questions asked of Trump by Kelly. No substance at all. You’re ok with it because Trump is not your candidate.

We can play the Fox gotcha game.

Try this one on for size and tell me how you like it:

When did you stop beating your wife?

Sounds like a fair question to me. (sarcasm)

They were all laughing at the Republican Strategist lady who was standing up for journalistic integrity and the voters of Iowa. She was soooo serious.

Yeah, when she was talking about other networks joining in professional solidarity and refusing to broadcast Trump's competing event, they laughed her right off the screen. They never cut back to her and she was ignored the rest of the segment.

It was hilariously dismissive.

"or if they were sensible enough to include ratings numbers in the commitment contract"

The networks have a floor for each show, with bonuses for each ratings tier.

Now, all those advertisers are stuck with the air time, but won't have to pay anything beyond the floor.

Which is likely very substantial.

Fox must carry the debate. The advertisers must pay the minimum. Of course, the deal was they expected Trump to be there and draw 20mil+ viewers.

Fox and the advertisers are both kinda screwed as they try to compete with Donald's Red, White and Blue Veterans Show.

On CNN or MSNBC.

That must be the statement which got him riled up.

(Snip)

“...In a call on Saturday with a Fox News executive, Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a ‘rough couple of days after that last debate; and he & would hate to have her go through that again.’Lewandowski was warned not to level any more threats, but he continued to do so. We can't give in to terrorizations toward any of our employees. Trump is still welcome at Thursday night's & debate and will be treated fairly, just as he has been during his 132 appearances on FOX News & FOX Business, but he can't dictate the moderators or the questions.”

Wow

FOX put out a very explicit statement naming names. That in & of itself lends me believe it is true.

Either he did not know what Lewandowski was saying on his behalf or he knew and never dreamed Ailes would call him on it.

Either was, sucks to be him right now because if it is true, every doubt I had about the way he conducts himself seems to be valid.

I will wait to see if he is asked about it, does he confirm or deny and what happens to Lewandowski before closing my mind on the subject.

does anybody know what he meant by "a rough couple of days?"

Megyn took a rather lengthy vacation after the first debate.

By now they are realizing how much money they are losing and what kind of a media disaster this is for Fox.

These mediaholes are some of the most arrogant sonsabitches on the planet.

They really thought Trump would buckle and allow them to play him like a fool, but he didn't blink. He basically told them to put a big wet kiss where the sun don't shine, and walked.

Now they have egg on their faces, and you can bet they're losing a boatload of money, due to angry advertisers threatening to renegotiate the rates for that night.

Who played who, suckers?

From the article:

Lewandowski stated that Megyn had a 'rough couple of days after that last debate' and he 'would hate to have her go through that again.'

Maybe he never said that at all. But if he did, does anybody know what he meant by "a rough couple of days?" That would seem to be the crux of this story.

Most liberals think Fox News is conservative. I think it hires conservatives and liberals. Other networks pretty much just higher liberals. It's strange to see a Republican picking a fight with Fox News. Why not CBS, CNN, NPR?

I would expect a politician to complain to or about a network, and not name names publicly. Putting the focus on an individual reporter does not seem right. It seems like an effort to intimidate. If it works, it's easy to send the message to another reporter "cooperate or you're next."

First, think back, after the debate, how trump supporters and others railed, contacted Fox, and how many people haven't watched Kelly since that debate. While that uproar was going on, and it was quite an uproar, Megyn took off for an unscheduled vacation. The conventional wisdom was that everyone would side with Kelly. The woman card, the victim card, the poor me attacked by a big bad man card.

Secondly, since August, Kelly's show has been a nonstop bash fest on Trump. She gets people, especially recently almost all the NR editors, asks her little questions, and then just sits back and lets everyone say all the things she is thinking, without having to get her hands dirty. It's not her public words or the debates that Trump is referring to when he says she is very biased, its her shows that have turned into Hate Trump central. REally pathetic.

"...and should Trumop become President...they will have to eat crow."

They won't eat crow, they'll eat cancelled ad contracts.

I don't see Trump ever going onto a Fox show again.
