Washington (CNN)—Media mogul Rupert Murdoch believes Donald Trump's ability to appeal across party lines will lead to victory over Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

"Cruz bets uniting white conservatives/evangelicals enough, Meanwhile Trump appealing across party lines. Surely the winning strategy," Murdoch tweeted Friday night.

Murdoch added that in the wake of Thursday night's Republican debate, the party's establishment is viewing Trump as the inevitable nominee.

"24 hours and many influential Republicans see Trump inevitable and get ready to switch. United by horror of Hillary whose campaign staggers," Murdoch tweeted.

My tagline and I agree. On the other hand, I’d vote for a ‘57 Buick over any of the uniparty.

Murdoch also listens to Hume, Baier, Krauthammer et al so this probably means they are coming around to reality as well.

That's because they know he (Trump) that will play ball

You've got that wrong. What we've learned this week has shown that it's Cruz that will play ball with the banks/

What they know, I suspect, is that Trump (at his age and with his empire) would only want four years. The smartest thing the establishment could do, both political parties is to take a "time out". The dems to develop some leadership in their younger ranks. The 'pubs to figure out if they're going to be a party that dies or a party that respects Constitutional Conservatives.

Nobody doubts that Trump is doing this because he wants the US to go back to being more like the country we all grew up in.

re: Rubio. Assuming his status is resolved, is that such a bad idea?

Under the guidance of Trump, he might be an able learner about what the US he is too young to have experienced was like. He can convey that to younger voters. I see Rubio as having the humor, intellect, and respectfulness to be the Presidential Apprentice.

Hillary Clinton Defends Trump.

Fox supports Trump.

RINOs and Democrats support Trump the outsider!

Murdoch switching to Trump because he wants to back a winning horse. And as President, Trump would be in a position to pay Fox back for having been nasty to him for a good part of the primary season. Murdoch is jamming his gears into reverse now to try to minimize the damage.

Yup

Agree....

The Democrats are in big trouble. So whoever becomes the Republican nominee will most likely be the next President.

Trump has poll numbers that are higher than Ronald Reagan.

At this point it’s looking pretty good for Trump.

The only disappointment has been the fight between Cruz and Trump. I wish those two would work out their differences.

No Fox News for the most part has been Anti Trump.

They have been Pro Jeb, Pro Rubio, Pro Walker.

All of it has backfired, and now Fox News is admitting is the top guy.

“Hillary whose campaign staggers”

This is the key point.

Murdock is afraid of Bernie.

Hillary will lose to Bernie and nobody can stop Trump in the GOP primaries.

Trump doesn’t give anything away he doesn’t have to. No deal is necessary when you’re already winning.
