On Tuesday on the syndicated Howie Carr Show, Ted Cruz declared that Donald Trump "comes from New York and he embodies New York values." That night on Fox, New York-born Megyn Kelly asked Cruz to explain exactly what "New York values" are. Cruz responded: "The rest of the country knows exactly what New York values are, and I gotta say, they're not Iowa values and they're not New Hampshire values."
Yesterday Kellyanne Conway, president of Keep the Promise I, one of four significant pro-Cruz Super PACs, endorsed Cruz's anti-New York perspective: "New York is home to many wonderful people and places, but the emphasis is more on money than morality. The line to get into Abercrombie & Fitch is a mile longer than the line to get into St. Patrick's Cathedral."
But here's what Cruz and Conway haven't mentioned:
Keep the Promise I is registered in New York and has raised $11,000,000 from a single New Yorker, financier Robert Mercer. Mercer is co-CEO of the hedge fund Renaissance Technologies, located on New York's Long Island. The Super PAC's only other donor is from Florida and contributed $5,000, so Mercer has provided 99.95 percent of its money.

Ted should ask for forgiveness so this will die down.
Goldman Sachs. I’m sorry but just that fact his wife works for those scumbags turns me off
Goldman sold bad bonds which they knew were bad to suckers..laughed about it after and shorted them..all proven!
“Cruz better be careful painting in broad brushes.”
For all the alleged debate genius, this was a pratfall that will mark him for life.
Ted should of clarified that remark as NYC values because the rest of the state, especially up north, is hardly liberal, but they all suffer because of the actions in the Big Apple.
He didn’t seem to mind fund raising in NY.
Trump called Iowa voters stupid, yet he doesn't seem to mind spending time there.
Yep. This was a strategic error. There are plenty of ways to make the point without tarring an entire city or state.
NY conservatives know the real NY. And most would agree with Cruz’ statement and acknowledge that Trump is grandstanding on heart strings because the heroes of 9/11, who most in the city despise right now, have absolutely nothing to do with the argument.
Goldman Sachs epitomizes New York.
MSM: TORA, TORA, TORA!
I’m in Upstate New York. Ted has deeply insulted me and my friends because that statement was in no way supportive of the good people of New York.
Ted can’t go wrong - NY is like CA, raise money there, but beat the hell out of them on the trail. They could never vote GOP, it is a waste to try. Likewise the black vote, for every vote wrestled away from the Democrats in that category you lose 2-3 non-black votes at the margin.
Just another Ted Zeppelin inadvertent error.
My husband vacillated between Trump and Cruz. He’s now in Trump’s camp and I doubt he’ll budge. Mistake, Ted.
Sounds like another divider, what a moron.
When Trump called Iowans stupid, was that painting with a broad brush?
Did he actually say, “hate” or is this hyperbole?
New Yorkers don’t think the rest of the country matters. Same goes for Boston.
