A Michigan company running health clubs ejected a woman and canceled her membership after she warned other women that she had found a man using the women’s locker room – with the company’s permission. And then a Michigan judge tossed her lawsuit over the ejection, telling her she had no grounds for complaint. The result will be an appeal of the case to the higher courts, according to a law firm working on the dispute. A statement from lawyers at Kallman Legal Group explained, "It is clear that the appellate courts in Michigan will have the final say in this case." Appeal paperwork was promised no later than Jan. 26.
The original action was filed on behalf of Yvette Cormier, who alleged Planet Fitness breached the contract, violated the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act and more when it created a policy for its health club that allows a "judgment-free zone," where any person identifying as either sex can use the locker room associated with that physical gender. Thus, an open door when a "large, tall man" was a guest at the club and alleged he identified as a woman. He went into the women's facility, where Cormier encountered him. She complained to the company and, left without additional options, went into the facility to warn other women about the fact that a man had been found using it. "Defendants contacted plaintiff on March 4, 2015, requesting she stop warning others of defendants' 'judgment-free zone' policy. Plaintiff was given an ultimatum to either accept the policy or her membership would be terminated. She refused to submit to the 'judgment-free zone' policy; therefore, defendants terminated plaintiffs' Planet Fitness membership..."

Every woman using that gym should cancel their memberships.
And any men who are still men.
As long as she was refunded any amount that she had paid for future membership, I dont have a problem with this. The first amendment protects the freedom of assembly and that includes for the reasons of business. Should the business not wish to associate with her, then I am fine with that.
Likewise, others are free to not associate with the business.
I avoid gyms like the plague.. And my gut shows it. :-)

If Planet Fitness wants to have a “judgment free policy”, that is their prerogative. However, exactly what that means should be clearly made known to every single existing member as well as to every single potential member. If they had done this, plainly stating that their company allowed men to freely use the women’s locker room and vice versa, this the woman would not have a reason to object.
Time to short Planet Fitness stock.

we have women to thank for much of the rot in our culture...that should not offend any females, as it is a self-evident truth...
Hate to say it, but the women started the ball rolling when they demanded to be given access to men only clubs, now there is nowhere safe to associate with only those you wish except for your own home and I’m sure that liberals are already planning on how to eliminate that.
I don’t remember the first amendment saying we were free to assemble nude with a soap bar.
What needs to happen is that women refuse to join any of their clubs. I’m sure they make up a large portion of their membership and they can run them right into receivership.
I guess the cross dresser card trumps the female’s sexual harassment card. Wait until American women get a load of the Muslim card in the shower. All you know what will break loose.
I wonder what will happen when some guy just uses this policy to get into the women’s locker room; and then rapes someone.
If the women are informed ahead of time, and then they are assaulted, they don’t have a lawsuit?
Good reason for the company to clearly inform; and for women to STAY AWAY from joints like this.
