Why Do Republicans Dislike Jeb Bush So Much?
Slate ^ | 1/8/16 | Jim Newell

He's not just losing. He is loathed.

It is not difficult to see why Jeb Bush is losing this presidential election. He is the wrong man in the wrong cycle. Republican primary voters are rewarding passionate, fiery, outsider, "anti-establishment" candidates who paint their visions in broad strokes rather than pesky details. Bush is the very picture of a Republican establishment and his donors the very image of donor-class Republicanism. Though he claims not to be "an expert on the ways of Washington," he is vying to be the third consecutive Republican president named Bush. He is a conservative technocrat animated less by angst and more by, say, education funding models. Anti-immigration sentiment is dominating this primary, and immigration has long been Bush's chief weakness in the primary. He's a bad fit for the 2016 Republican Party, and barring some deus ex machina that switches every current coursing through the Republican primary electorate, he will soon have little rationale for continuing his run.

Just listen to the words that have come out of his mouth over the year or so.

Add to that that Obama ran against the Bush name and won 2 terms doing so.

The Bush name may still get Bushes elected in TX, but the remainder of the nation have had more than enough Bush administrations.

First Problem: “Bush is the very picture of a Republican establishment.” BINGO!

2nd Problem: “He is a conservative ...”. He’s not even a moderate .. he’s a blooming liberal .. but he runs as a Repub because he can.

These 2 items cancel him out as far as I’m concerned.
The other issue I have is his inability to save the life of Mrs. Schievo, after her husband tried to choke her to death. Jeb didn’t even make an attempt to try and find a judge who would take a look at the case and see if the parents could be named as custodian; because the husband was a suspect in her choking incident.

I could never, ever vote for Jeb Bush.

Slate and other progressive sites were hoping for our Jeb! to run against their Hillary so that he could very easily be rhetorically smacked in the mouth, disarmed by the media, and made to shut the hell up like a good RINO should.(i.e. McConnell & BooHooBoehner).

It’s slowly dawning to them, in the eyes of the Tea Party or majority conservative voter, that Jeb! represents all that is wrong with the GOPe at this moment in time. Jeb! is a part of the past. His son G. Prescott may, may be a part of the future, but not now. We aint buyin what the Bushes are sellin, not this time.

Bush is just very lame. He was a good governor of Florida, where I live, but the times were good and Florida at that time was a pretty conservative state.

He was much more engaging in public than his brother. I saw both W. and Jeb on stage at the same time during a campaign appearance in 2004, and Jeb was a good speaker and actually seemed to get W. to be a little more forthcoming.

But things have changed, and I don’t think Jeb is up to the challenge. He’s been out of state government for a number of years now, and while I think he may have some good ideas on some things and might make a good cabinet member if a GOPer wins, I don’t think he really has what it takes to be president.

I’m obviously not the only one who feels this way!

Jeb reminds me of W., without the balls.

He doesn’t come across as strong. I don’t know if he ever had it, but he’s lost his confidence. It’s a mental thing now.

Go home to mama Jebbie

His mama was right when she said, "We've had enough Bushes".

That may have been true in the past.

I think George P. Bush is going to have a tough time on his next go-round. We won’t forget that he abandoned his post to shill for his worthless brother.

He is disliked partially because he picks his nose in public.

I dislike him because he carries a turtle in his pocket...

... made out of boogers.
