Though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.
Psalm 37:24
The clock tower at Westminster, which contains the bell known as Big Ben, is an iconic landmark in London, England. It is traditionally thought that the melody of the tower chimes was taken from the tune of âI Know That My Redeemer Livethâ from Handelâs Messiah. Words were eventually added and put on display in the clock room:
Lord, through this hour be Thou our guide;
So by Thy power no foot shall slide.
These words allude to Psalm 37: âThe Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the handâ (vv. 23-24 nlt). Notice how intimately involved God is in His childrenâs experience: âHe delights in every detail of their livesâ (v. 23 nlt). Verse 31 adds, âThe law of their God is in their hearts; their feet do not slip.â
How extraordinary! The Creator of the universe not only upholds us and helps us but He also cares deeply about every moment we live. No wonder the apostle Peter was able to confidently invite us to âcast all your anxiety on him because he cares for youâ (1 Peter 5:7). As the assurance of His care rings in our hearts, we find courage to face whatever comes our way.
Loving Father, thank You that every part of my life matters to You. Encourage me in my struggles so that I might walk in a way that reflects Your great love and honors Your great name.
No one is more secure than the one who is held in Godâs hand.
The words of hope, protection, and promise in the Psalms are not simply âbig pictureâ hopes and dreams; they relate to everyday life. David confirms this in todayâs psalm. He claims that he himself is a witness to Godâs protection. Notice the words of verse 25. The blessing of the Lord is not just spiritual and future; David says it is here and now and he has seen it. Throughout his life, David had witnessed the reality of the Lord's blessing on the lives of the righteous.

Your Year Was a "C" Year |
When it comes right down to it, your year was pretty average. It was okay. It wasn't the best of years, but it wasn't the worst of years either. You are sort of relieved it's over though.
Here's hoping that next year is significantly better, or at least better than ever. Remember that the new year can be a fresh start. Try to embrace the idea of starting over a little. |

Your Year was an "A" Year |
Wow! It would be an understatement to say you had the best year ever. You're flying high after having an incredible year. It was the year when almost everything went right for once.
Enjoy the feeling of having a year well done. You deserve to celebrate a little. Here's hoping that next year is even better... if that's even possible! |

Without taking the quiz I will say that 2015 was a heck of a lot better than 2014, which was one of the worst years of my life. Definitely top 5 worst. So I am thankful to God for the improvements of 2015 and I hope 2016 will be OK too.

Our 2015 sucked for the most part. My wife lost two sisters and her dad and we both lost our youngest daughter. In addition there was a hospitalization of my wife for a month. 2016 is not allowed to be crappy.

Your Year Was a “D” Year
This year was, well, not great. It could have been worse, but not a lot worse.
Your year was pretty crummy, and you’re willing to admit it. Hopefully there was a silver lining or two.
It’s time to cut your losses and move on. Thank goodness this year is almost over!
Next year has got to be better... it would be pretty hard for it not to be.

Your Year Was a "B" Year |
You had a pretty darn good year, thank you very much. You're happy with how things went. Was it perfect? No. But there was a lot more good than bad that happened. And that's good enough for you!
While you may want to spend time thinking about how you can do better next year, make sure to pay tribute to the year you had. Pretty good years don't come along often, and you should celebrate that you had one! |

I got an “A”. It was a mixed year...
1) After 10 years of infertility, miscarriages, surgeries and being told I would never have children, I found out Jan 18 I was pregnant (at 43).
2) High risk pregnancy with Dr appts every week, gestational diabetes and a few scares (blood test results). Dodged every bullet.
3) Being 5 months pregnant and having my late best friends two teenagers for the entire summer (complete with accompanying drama).
4) Being 8 months pregnant and losing my mom (I have posted stories about her over the years here on Freep)to a massive heart attack very suddenly.
5) Giving birth to a beautiful baby girl with a fairly uneventful delivery (no complications).
6) Doubling the size of my farm
7) Having to deal with probate issues etc
8) Having been hospitalized 4 times since September for various conditions
9) Having an amazing husband who is a great daddy and took care of the baby while I was in and out of the hospital.
10) Having to clean up a horrific mess at our Ranch now that my mother is gone and its our house.

Can’t argue with the results. They’re usually off with their results but this time they’re pretty much on the money.

Hi Luv! Sorry I’m late but I was “forced” to watch the Penguins-Blackhawks hockey game with my son. :)
I got a “B” for my year, and why not? I’m pretty content; coasting, actually. I’m satisfied with my life and don’t have a whole lot more to accomplish. At least I see no need to risk health and sanity over work and stuff.

I had a great year. Turned 60 and my Reserve retirement pay started on time. I have not worked since 2011 and am enjoying it.
But most of all, my angel (daughter Jasmine) turned 2 and lights up my life every day. I tell my wife daily that I am blessed and lucky to have both of them.
During my working life I did not have time to take care of a dog, now I have 4, the latest is a 2 month old Golden Retriever called Copper. Nice to come outside and be greeted. Dogs are always glad to see you.
And lastly, I am lucky to be living in Thailand, it's in the 80’s right now and I'm enjoying it.
